GBP offer Berto less than he got for Collazo & Urango to fight Mosley!

Apparently Golden Boy have offered Berto $750,000 to fight Mosley, which is less than he got to face Collazo & Urango. According to this article, HBO are putting up $3m for the fight alone, meaning the expect Berto to be on the wrong end of a 75-25 split going on just that. I'm sure there will be at least a couple of mil comin from elsewhere, so this offer is just piss-taking. I don't think Mosley's scared, but they really aren't giving Berto much to go on & if he takes this fight for that split NOBODY could doubt his guts.

I'm not a big fan of Berto, but damn, that's a travesty. Pay the kid.

Yea thats a bit sad, to be fair Berto holds a belt and is undefeated. At the very least break the million dollar mark for the kid if your gonna take away his 0.

Yeah, to be fair to Berto, he's been getting in with some decent guys, had a great fight with Collazo & near-shutout Urango. It's also not like he's in some dead division in the way Adamek was when they were talking about a Hopkins fight. He's in the best weight class in boxing & he can't get offered even $1m to fight the best guy in the division :confused:

he should atleast get 1 mill.

Mosely is a piss poor style to compete with Bertos handspeed, Berto can and would outbox him, Shane would try to match him in speed-combos but he cant do it anymore

I'm not sure that he beats Mosley, but his wins over Rodriguez, Collazo & Urango mean that he is no more a paper champ than Cotto who beat Michael Jennings to win the belt & barely beat Clottey if at all.

You have to think that if Mayweather or Pacquiao had tried to lowball him like this people would be losing their minds.

That's taking the mickey. Mosley and Hopkins are just looking for cash out fights now so you can't blame them for making the offer but it's still taking the mick.

Berto should still take the offer. The name Mosley on his resume means more than the money

yet Mosley beat the only common opponent (Collazo) they have a lot more impressively, and Mosley's timing is still spot on, and yes Berto is a paper champ, he picked up Mayweather's left overs, and he did so against a joke of a "contender"
