I'd say team pac should take it just kicks. They should impose 1M dollar penalty per excess pound. And let's see if Mosley is really or just bluffing.
If Moseley can make the weight (Which I doubt) what do you think he would rehydrate to? 160? if this is done properly (Not like ODH) then this is a genuine mismatch. Unless shane is just doing it for the money; surely he must have learned from ODH's beating.
Either it's a bluff to keep his name out there or he doesn't mind taking a beating for a pay day... that or he's being genuine, don't think he could do 140 somehow though.
One thing I do think... if he's bluffing then the Pac Camp are going to think that if he is asking for 140 then 144 won't be that much trouble for him... if so I don't think they'd want the fight.
Damn Mosely sounds serious. Actually's he one of the few fighters I can imagine making the cut and still being successful such is his dedication to the sport.
I'd rather he stayed at 147 though. I think Manny and Mosely are slightly too far apart in natural weight to make a fight really viable.
Although Shane obviously wants in on the action, its tough for him right now. Floyd, Cotto and Pacqauio all involved in big fights and Shane has nobody to really fight as he's conquered Margarito already.
For me the best fight for Sugar Shane is Andre Berto, but that wouldn't generate one fifth of the money he'd get for Manny so little wonder he wants that fight and is prepared to go to drastic lengths to secure it.
20 pounds is a lot to sweat off and put back on, I'd guess if he dryed up to that much he'd probably not get past 154.Quote:

He may have shot himself in the foot though... he's in danger of appearing too confident and I don't think that Roach/Pac will want it.
More likely - 140 won't happen... They want the fight to at least masquarade as a Welterweight one for that belt and to appear to be genuinely in the WW mix, so they have to come up with a catchweight... if Mosely seems over confident he isn't too big to hit it then I really don't think any fight will come off.
At least he can say he offered to come all the way down to 140 though:-\
I love Shane and all but now it sounds like he is begging. This is below him and kinda sad. I doubt seriously Pacman will take the bait. I'm really suprised that this is Golden Boy's best idea for landing him this fight. Why doesn't Shane try and make the rematch with Cotto and then neither of them has to agree to a catchweight? I realize Arum won't let it happen but the winner of that fight and the winner of Maquez/Mayweather would now have options and not have to agree to a 70/30 split to fight Pacman.
Shane is a Freak of Nature and can probably do it.. Pac and roach dont want it, they couldnt put a dent in a 110lb version of Mosely's chin.. Nazim Richardson wouldnt let Shane talk this mess if he didnt think he had a good gameplan and strategy
Shane will have to abnormaly shrink his stomach just to get down 140. He could experience what DLH went through or worst. He'll look like a beef jerky at the weigh in and possibly might not make 145+ come fight night.
