Anyone else not like Erislandy Lara?

For some reason I just don't like his style, His cross is thrown like an amateur, he doesn't really sit down on any of his punches, IMO he is looks like a sloppy amateur in there, I know he is really young and athletically gifted, but I don't see the fundamentals Rigondeaux and even Gamboa have. Gamboa makes a lot of mistakes that Erislandy doesn't, but he is better athlete and he throws punches better, IMO I think Rigondeaux does everything a lot better than Lara, which is why he was a way better amateur even at the same age.

I am only comparing him to these two because some people seem to think he has the most potential of all the cubans, and I just don't see it. IMO there are more talented young fighters out there, like Andrade.

I've seen two of his fights and I've found him impressive. However, I didn't see his last fight and we're not going to find out all that much about him until he faces his first semi-legitimate opponent.

I see Lara having more sucess than Rigondeaux as a pro

I think he's sound across the board . Can fight inside, outside. Can come forward and boss a fight and seems like he can box a bit too. Not extraordinary athleticism. Seems to have decent power although his shots don't look like they'd be that hard. Could be a champion in the future IMO.

The guy I have some questions about even though its early as hell is Rigondeaux. Even though he was the best amateur and the guy I thought the highest of. I have been underwhelmed so far with his speed, for some reason he doesn't look as fast as I remember him as an amateur. And I'd like to see that he can create some openings as a pro instead of being so reliant on countering. How well he'll do if he has to follow a mover around, that kind of thing. Loops his left hand a bit at times. And he's old for a guy just starting out.

As early in his career as he is I don't see how you can not be impressed with Lara. His fundamentals are fine, I don't really see what your problem with him is. He doesn't have one-punch ko power, so his not sitting down on his punches play to his strengths (speed and accuracy). Darnell Boone is definately someone that has caused problems for real contenders such as putting Ward on his ass.

He is a counter puncher, and he has lead a little bit, I honestly don't think Guillermo has even gone into first gear as a pro, I think these guys they are throwing in front of him are laughable, I honestly thought he would be facing a guy who was 10-0 for his second fight. He is older, but he wants his first championship fight by his 6th or 7th fight, and I can't see him not accomplishing that.

I just don't like Erislandy Lara's style, and he doesn't have the base talent that Gamboa or Rigondeaux have, thats why he wasn't as good as them as amateurs(or at least Rigondeaux). If I had to put them both in with a world caliber fighter my money would be on Rigondeaux winning, not Lara. Its just he doesn't have those base instincts, like that 6th sense defensively, or the foot movement that Guillermo hasn't even shown yet as a pro, or that amazing speed. Lara is really fast, but not devastatingly fast.

OumaFan usually get's a boner when Lara has an upcoming fight.
He's been following him since before he turned pro.

What happened to Brewer fighting Winky?

Anyways, I'm very sold on Lara but I don't think he will stop Brewer. It'll be a good test for him if only because of his inexperience in the professional game so far. I don't think he'll lose, but stranger things have happened.

Can't remember the whole story but I don't think it was drawing that well. If I remember rightly Winky was taking chump change for that fight so it wasn't his demands that lead to the cancellation...

Lara should definitely beat Brewer but I think it'll be by decision
