Hi, just wondering if I am too old to take up boxing at the age of 35. I'd love the experience of getting in the ring. I'd also like to get in shape!
Thanks
Paul

To become a world champion: probably not. But give it a shot you might become a good local contender or something like that. Age is just a number remember that.
just for the purpose you stated you're not too old paul. just go to a doctor for a check up to make sure you're in good condition.
Not at all. And you can still compete as an ametuer. The Masters division is for boxers 35 and up. It's tougher to find an opponent and not all the big tourneys have Masters fights, but it's growing. White Collar boxing is also becoming really popular. Give it a shot, you will be glad you did.
Thanks for the advice. I know I won't be world champ lol. And I didn't expect your replys to be so encouraging! I'm going to give it a go.

Look at martin rogan he started boxing at 33 and he is the commonwealth champion and matt skelton started boxing at 35 and he is commonwealth and european champion and had a shot at the WBA title! So i think its safe to say you could get a world title if you are good enought, goog luck!:)
i think u should give it a go, u dont wanna be 5o thinking wished i had given that a go, i am personally 35 & i couldnt do it so respect to ya brotha
