man Pavlik just forced a war from the first second of the fight, this fight almost seemed better to me when I was looking at it just now than I remember it being. I am a bit bored which probably helps.
Really a great gameplan from Pavlik to back Miranda up since Edison doesn't really know how to fight backing up and its not really Kelly's strong suit either.

Pavlik did some really nice body work in that first round, I never really noticed it before.
Yeah his left hook to the body's pretty nice, thuds a bit. I thought he bothered Edison with the first real body punch he threw, the left hook with about 2:35 left in the round. Granted its a bit hard to always tell how much a body shot bothered somebody but it was a good shot and he looked interested in getting off the ropes right after.
I have trouble watching that fight. It occurred about 5 days after my mom died, I was really cheering for Miranda in a big way and even though I don't really care for him as a fighter now it still makes me upset when I watch it.
Love that fight; probably my fave Pavlik fight, as this was when the hype was going to get exposed and he flattened Edison. Forced the war like Ouma said, took some bombs and walked through them, and shined that night. He's still imo one of the best finishers in the game.
Although this was just a slugfest, I enjoyed watching Pavlik vs Taylor better. I guess it was because of the knockdowns, momentum swings, style matchup between the two but the fight with Miranda was a good one.
I know what you mean man. My dad died two hours after the telecast ended for Juan Diaz vs Juan Manuel Marquez and I saw that fight again and got a little emotional.Quote:

Edison Miranda is horrible on the backfoot, he struggles to get any power into his shots. And most of his shots were arm punches, it was a good action fight but after the 2nd round it was a beat down.
