As much as I would LOVE for that to happen, I point your attention to other sons of former champions.
So I will cheer for Monk, and wish him the best, but I will doubt him until he has more experience.

Yep I know. But at the moment I am just hoping for a reincarnated 1970's George Foreman to appear on the scene and add some spice to the division.
George wasn't the greatest "boxer" in the world but for me he is the greatest puncher of all time and he had a seriously underated jab. In fact I would only put Larry Holmes', Lennox Lewis' and maybe Wlads jab as being better than "Big" George's in the history of the HW division.
So pardon my "ridiculous" hopes for his son lol.

Well the great thing about Foreman is he went from being only a brawler to a very crafty boxer, and I think that may help his son more than anything else.
George needs to teach his son DEFENSE first, the power is of course going to be there, he's a big kid, he's got good genes, but he needs to be a solid BOXER before we can expect anything of him.

Do you know if he has much of an amateur background? One thing old George had was a brief but very sucessful amateur career!

I think his first fight was his first fight ever....I don't think Monk ever was an amateur. But hell George only had a year of amateur experience, Tyson didn't have much either.

No but they both made a lot of noise in the am's whilst they were there. It's often but not always a good way to judge how they might go on in the pro's.
I guess with "Monk" we will just have to wait and see!

I think he could make some noise in the division. If you really search the division there really is no one there until you reach the top five. Even that is a little hazy.George should take some time and set-up different type of fight's. Same advise I would give Deontay Wilder. Fight a slickster,a pure boxer,puncher, defensive wiz throw him in there with a punch of style's.Bring him up slow but not to slow at age 26 there isn't too much time to mess around. Lastly FIGHT all the time. To many guy's take too long in between fight's. George Sr. should make him fight once a month maybe twice. Probably in about 4 years when he hit's 30 he could fight for a title.

He has no amateur experience at all. I read an interview where Foreman said people refused to fight him on his name alone.

As for the original question, I'm going to say no because that will give me the best chance of being right.
The kid has only just had his first fight, considering his complete lack of amateur experience I think it will take at least 15-20 fights before we know if he has any potential at all. I also doubt he'll keep his unbeaten record for long unless he fights absolutely garbage opponents, it's just going to be part of the learning process for him.

Don't blame them really. If he punches like his father he could really cause some damage even with the headgear on!

There's probably never been a better time for A legend's son such as Foreman's to join the division... problem is, if he'd a decent amateur background has his fathers talent then it wouldn't take him too much time to start making some noise and doing stuff.... But even with his dad's talent, if he doesn't have much or any amateur grounding he's going to have to be built from the ground up, stylistically this may make him a better pro but it is going to be a relatively long time before he can do anything in the division because for a few years he will be learning on the job.
Who knows how good or bad the division will be by that time? ???
I'd love to see him do well though.
