Kevin Johnson vs. Odlanier Solis

Haven't heard anyone talk about this one, but it is definately two guys that are on the cusp of being contenders. I think this is a very important heavyweight fight, although the low volume of both guys could end up being a stinker.

The bigger fights on the card are JuanMa vs. Rogers Mtagwa (whom you may remember for his FOTY candidate battle against Tomas Villa last year) - should be a very entertaining fight while it lasts both guys are high volume.

Yuriorkis Gamboa is taking on Whyber Garcia (who has been stopped early and often), I don't expect this to be competitive at all. Garcia has problems when his opponents have power.

Vanes Martirosyan is in against workhorse Pawel Wolak, Martirosyan will really need to bring his "A" game and be the boxer if he expects to pull this out, if he gets to lax Wolak will press him to the canvas.

All in all it sounds like a decent night of boxing. 3 of the 4 big fights should be competitive. This is an HBO PPV event, and one that I will pay for. There are some pretty good prospects taking the stage early in Carlos Negron and Jorge Diaz, hopefully yahoo will broadcast the undercard as they've been doing lately.

Lopez vs. Mtagwa makes me wince :shinner:.All guts but his you could not miss Mtagwa if a guy tried.They really need to watch him close in that one I believe......Gamboa facing another padder,Great.

Sounds like a very good night of prospects and contenders. I'm liking Solis and wish the Fres O fight would have happened, its always fun to watch 2 undefeated fighters on the rise go at it. Juan Lopez is becoming a must see fighter and he should have another knockout when the bell rings. Thanks for the FYI Killer.

Sounds great, but I want to see if Solis ever gets in shape again...if Solis fought Arreola it would be The Battle of the Bulge!

I like the Johnson/ Solis match-up! I think Johnson could pull it out, the winner certainly become a contender...

for all the talk about how fast Gamboa was moving opposition wise his team definitely seems like they've pumped the brakes a bit. Maybe they're just keeping him busy, I don't know.

I like that Mtgawa gets a shot but after this its time for Juanma to step up a bit more, specifically Caballero since he's been calling him out so much.

Your right about Gamboa's comp stalling! Maybe they're worried about that chin...

If Johnson stays focus I think he should win, but he had bugger all amateur experience which to me make this a very even match-up. Its great to see unbeaten fighters like this peering up... I love these types of fights!

I also hope Lopez targets Caballero next, especially with the talk that he may be moving up. With Vasquez & Marquez both moving to feather there not really a defining fight left for Juanma if Caballero goes too
