WBO a doubt for Cotto/ Pac... IBA might step in.
IBA ???
Ever head of them? Seems like another Alphabet Strap is taking advantage of a bad situation.
WBO sunk? IBA looking to sanction Pacquiao - Cotto and line their pockets!
Pretty sad to see really. I would like to think that both the Cotto and Pac teams would reject this bullshit strap.
Re: WBO a doubt for Cotto/ Pac... IBA might step in.
Why would they reject it? It says the IBA will pay the boxers to fight for their title. They're not gonna turndown money for nothing, are they? ;D
I believe they have to pay the WBO $300,000 to have the honour of fighting for their belt.
Re: WBO a doubt for Cotto/ Pac... IBA might step in.
Its just worrying though. The thought of another Strap establishing itself is just horrible.
Apparently the IBO is a belt worth fighting for now ???
Re: WBO a doubt for Cotto/ Pac... IBA might step in.
They should melt all these belts down on fiery flames. Fighting for these horrible excuses for titles is making a mockery of the sport. It needs to end. Boxing is becoming devoid of any meaning. I calculate that there are approximately 264 welterweight champions in a division that contains 1023 fighters. A quarter of the fighters are champions of various kinds. Several organisations are now said to be developing championship bracelets and necklaces. One organisation is even said to claiming a fighter as the holder of the WTS codpiece. This is an unhealthy trend. Soon they will be putting belts in clothing outlets so that members of the non fighting general public will be able to pop out and buy their own belts. Just say no.
Re: WBO a doubt for Cotto/ Pac... IBA might step in.
That's the reason whether this fight was a catchweight or not is irrelevant.
The belts mean eff all. So what does the weight-class matter?
All that's important is the best fights are made. Who seriously gives a flying fuck whether or not Pac becomes a 7-weight champion?
If he beats Cotto it will be a great win over a current great fighter. That's all that's needed.
Re: WBO a doubt for Cotto/ Pac... IBA might step in.
From now on all belts should be refered to as the WTF titles. Why bother? Is it just to ensure 12 rounds as opposed to 10.I think the IBA was founded by a baseball player/official or something,Dean Chance ??? Edit....thats him lol
And their Heavyweight champion is 44 yr old Oliver McCall haha

Hmmm,i tend to agree, theres silly title belts and organizations out there that make this great noble art game end up like a circus!
Re: WBO a doubt for Cotto/ Pac... IBA might step in.
tooth fairy........santa claus.............leprechauns..........IBA
Re: WBO a doubt for Cotto/ Pac... IBA might step in.
Its a scary thought that Boxing's Number 1 fighter will be fighting for something with less credibility than the Tooth Fairy.
Absolutely shocking :(

Well he did defend the P4P title last time. ;D
Re: WBO a doubt for Cotto/ Pac... IBA might step in.
The belts have become less than meaningless. It's really a joke.

Exactly who gives a shit about other trivial stuff. The fight will be made that's the important thing. People just like to complain about this or that.

I agree! People always like to badmouth boxing because they say there are too many belts, etc. & the UFC just likes the best guys to fight each other. Now Manny & Cotto plan to fight @ 145 & that fight will help determine who's one of the better fighters from 140-145 so having the WBO or IBA belt on the line won't make that fight any better or worse for me.
Re: WBO a doubt for Cotto/ Pac... IBA might step in.
I would not pay for a title fight, but I am a tight git.
Re: WBO a doubt for Cotto/ Pac... IBA might step in.
Too many belts, too many different boxing commissions, too many politics within each organization (and often dirty politics at that). There needs to be one organization that oversees ALL boxing, perhaps an international boxing organization with bureaus in each country with uniform rules, etc.
