Before the fight Jeff Lacy complained about having the wrong gloves on so it delayed the bout for about 20 minutes trying to get Lacy's everlast gloves. But once the fight started from round one Roy Jones prove age isn't anything but a number and dominated Lacy and at the end of the tenth round Lacy's corner stopped the fight. Roy say now he's know as Captain Hook stating the he has the best hook in boxing.
Damn....Lacy is a sad story in boxing. He started out with a spark and now he's garbage.
Man, im so happy, I just came home and hopped on the computer expecting to see that Lacy had beat an old Roy, but Im so happy i was wrong and Jones won in what sounds like impressive fasion.

I dont know what happened out here in Australia with the promotion of the fight but they would have ran at a loss i think.
They wanted 50 bucks to view this as we usually get all the bigger fights for $40.
Also they sort of made out in the pre fight adverts it was Green and Jones starring and were pumping up both with the inevitable showdown mentioned last of all , no mention of who they were fighting tonight until the close of the advert. A Sham directed at fans not in the know.
That's good news for Roy. I'm glad to hear it, I'll watch the fight later today.
It's just too bad for Jeff Lacy. Inevitably it was going to result in a sad ending for one them. Jeff should retire now.:nopity:

Jones was very impressive, i wouldn't go as far as to say he is 'back', but certainly his speed was exceptional,truly exceptional,a 2001ish jones. Also he seems to have the old swagger back. For his part, Lacy looked awful, he is absolutely spent, he was even more ponderous than usual, and fought even more than usual in straight lines (if thats possible). He was always a fighter that had no plan B, the trouble is his plan A is now ineffective. However he did show some heart, the fight could easily have been stopped earlier.
This win is about the quality of goverment cheese........

Roy looks great these days....When a fighter isn't trowiong anything back......He was timid in the Trinidad fight until Felix showed he had nothing......
I guess if Jones can sleep at night with bouts of this caliber who am I to criticize......The only thig Lacy is missing these days is a chain around his arms to hang up in the gym....No gym can have enough 170lb heavybags.....

Lacy only made Jones a very exciting prospect again, but Lacy is a washup fighter. Put up Jones on younger fighter like Pavlik and he would be having a leisure beating the two of them.
It will make Jones very very old

To everyone that says "it was Lacy" look at the fact Roy is the only person to ever stop Lacy and he dominated him the worst anyone has ever dominated him. Seriously when Pacquiao knocked out Hatton no one said "Oh Mayweather already did it, Hatton was always overrated" no they said "wow Pacquiao just beat him in better fashion then Mayweather he is p4p the best" but Roy just beats Lacy worse then Calzaghe or Taylor ever did and stops him and people wanna say "it's just Lacy"
I just realized something. This fight was Augustus-Oliviera all over again! Almost exactly.
Roy hasn't looked bad lately in general, even against Calzaghe before the cut it was very competitive. Roy was landing the harder, and far cleaner punches while Calzaghe was insuing pressure and good body work.
