Not a shock, old, a lot of fights, I thought he started to look past it a few years ago, first noticed it in the Jaime Rangel fight. Funny how he's been almost based out of Australia lately.
One,two....six robberies ok... but has to be more than a few legit L's among those 30 +;D
I'm just wondering how much this says about Omotoso's power, I mean Augustus has always had a pretty solid beard. But like Oumafan said... he is old & a lot of mileage on the clock. Definitely one to keep an eye on though down this side of the world, I thought Augustus beat Figuero in his last fight so its hard to say how far on the slide he is!
:'(
Augustus is one of my favorite fighters, but the last time he really looked good was against Ray Oliviera imo. After over 70 professional fights, many tough fights, its inevidable that he starts slowing down. Hes had a colorful career if not a great one. If I was him, id have two more fights aainst mediocre guys and retire with 40 wins.
I am sad to slowly see him leave in the sunset, what a warrior, what a classy guy who did bit the bitter end of the cookie too often when he should have got away with the big honors, I think that these too many wars are slowly starting to get their toll, especially because they are paired with age.
Thanks bud, retire before dire consequences happen, you might have never been a "great" champion but you've been a great warrior facing all kind of oddness and you never buckled down, always got back in the race without losing hope.
Now go get a rest cowboy, you deserve it.
There will only ever be one Augustus, his time in the ring has past. Regardless of his record, the entertainment he brought was unquestionable.
