It seems my soundcard has crapped out. I have an IBM Thinkpad Lenovo T61. I get no sound out of it anymore. My understanding is that the soundcard on a laptop is attatched to the motherboard. Is there anyway to fix the computer w/o replacing the motherboard?
Usually all in one boards are mass produced and there is not much financial incentive to trying to fix individual hardware components. It's cheaper just to replace the board. IBM does things differently though. Even if its not under warranty, try getting advice from an authorized IBM repair agent.Quote:

IBM website often has very good instructions for stuff like this.
