Can Roy Jones win a World title again?
Can Roy Jones win a Major world title again WBA,WBC,IBF or WBO before he retires?
Re: Can Roy Jones win a World title again?
I believe he could but he better hurry up before father time shuts the door on him completely. I do not think he should waste time anymore at Lightheavyweight but should go straight to Cruiserweight where he has skipped in the past and setup a mega showdown with Adamek where he can be a 5 division titlist and if he won, then why not a defense against Bhop in a once and for all battle for p4p supremacy?
Re: Can Roy Jones win a World title again?
Depends on the belt holder.
Not many top lightheavy's would have looked as impressive beating Lacy.

Yeah depends who has the belt. Good point about Lacy VS other opponents I can't think of many who could beat him in such piss easy fashion.
Re: Can Roy Jones win a World title again?
Definitely. Not because Jones is that good, but because there are sooo many titles. The WBA regularly has 3 champions, the WBC and WBO often have 2 champions, and then the IBF has their belt.
However, Jones will never be good enough to win The Ring Magazine Championship again.
Re: Can Roy Jones win a World title again?
Perhaps at cruiserweight, but not at light heavy...that division and 168 are too deep
Re: Can Roy Jones win a World title again?
Sure he can, if one of these "b" rated fighters he's been in with lately gets or vacates one. Dawson has one roy, try that.
Re: Can Roy Jones win a World title again?
Absolutely, for example I didn’t see any Gabriel Campillo (the WBA title holder) fight but judging by his resume I have no doubts that RJJ can beat him; the question is : does he need a strap in this stage of his career ? I don’t think so.

I'm sure he'd like to retire as a champ though, I wanna see him fight BHop again after listening to them both on that podcast in that other thread.
Re: Can Roy Jones win a World title again?
I think he has an excellent chance of beating Green for a title, so yeah.

Well, I would be delighted if Roy beat BHop a$$ again but like I said in the other thread I don’t think so, Bernard is not Lacy or Sheika, so I prefer this fight not happen.
Re: Can Roy Jones win a World title again?
I think Roy needs to seriously start walking to his 'end game'.He is not starting over here ??
With the number of trinkets today, gaining one may be similiar to turning the handle on a gum ball machine in the market....can he compete and defeat the top tier caliber fighters today...I dont think so.I think Adamek mauls him.
Re: Can Roy Jones win a World title again?
If he fights guys who like to box or aren't heavyhanded pressure fighters he can.

He can't deal with volume punchers, that's a fact. There are plenty of 'ok' names he can beat I reckon
Re: Can Roy Jones win a World title again?
If I'm a fan, I would like most to see a re-match with Glen Johnson, with or without a title. That has to be one of the most unsatisfying fights for fans.
