Nate Campbell talking about corruption, big heads and Juan "judges are mine" Diaz
Just read this on FightNews and found it an interesting little read.
Nate Campbell speaks! | Fightnews - Boxing News Updated 24/7
I agree with most of what Campbell has to say here. The commision was right to change the decision. A shame that the ref has maintained that his original decision was correct, it seems even time to reflect won't make a dishonest person become anymore responsible. Campbell is right that commisions should really be doing a lot more to weed out corrupt officials and judges too. Of course they should be held accountable for the decisions they make.
I found his comments about Bradley hiding behind his Dad and then later looking for Bradley at the strip club very funny. Having seen Bradley's girlfriend, I think he is perfectly justified in seeking good times at such establishments. Bradley doesn't come across at all well.
And Juan Diaz is a muppet and that's all I have to say about that. He fights in a corrupt state and got away with daylight robbery against Paulie. After hearing what Diaz said after the Paulie fight, I don't feel the need to hear anything he says again. He is up there with Khan on my list of most loathables.

I have to say Miles when you take a dislike to someone, you REALLY take a dislike to them. Although the emergence of Khan & the likes of Bradley seems to have sated some of your Mayweather/Pacquiao hate ;)

Diaz-Malignaggi was not even close to being a robbery ;D How anybody could have given Paulie more than 7 rounds is beyond me.

I can only dislike 2 or 3 fighters at a time really. It's too much effort to have long lists of fighters and having to make snarky comments about all of them. Khan might be going off the radar a little bit as this latest choice of opponent is so mind numbingly dull that I barely even want to mention it. I don't mind Bradley actually.

Those score cards were shocking. It was an outlandish verdict and I would imagine that those who think otherwise are in the minority. It was evenish half way in and Paulie put on a boxing show down the stretch. Diaz finally found the will to try and grab a round at the end and the show was over. 118-110 is criminal and that judge should be banned from boxing and sent to Siberia for 17 years hard labour.
Re: Nate Campbell talking about corruption, big heads and Juan "judges are mine" Diaz
Great article I enjoyed reading that especially where Campbell goes hunting the strip clubs for Timmy haha.
I agree with everything he said really.
Whilst I don't share Miles hate for Juan Diaz directly I did think the scorecard blowed in his fight with Malignaggi.
Whilst I agree it was a close fight, I think most would think Paulie clearly won overal and whilst I agree with Ouma that Diaz being awarded the win, is not really daylight robbery, being given a unanimous decision including a 118-110 scorecard DEFINITELY IS!
If you can't give Paulie more than 7 you sure as hell couldn't give Diaz any more he looked awful for most of that fight, Paulie boxing him in circles even with his trunks around his knees :D
I do hate the politics in boxing, it's such an unsatisfying feeling when a fighter gets robbed of his dues.
Paulie should have got the win over Diaz last Saturday, or at worst lost a razor thin split decision. 118-110 scorecards simply have no place in the sport and Van Hoy should be sacked, fined and ideally imprisoned.

Of course 118-110 was sketchy but a fair amount of people on here scored it for Diaz (I know that I did, along with CFH, Spicoli, and Amat, that's just who I know of off hand, I'm sure others did too, some other people on this thread did http://www.saddoboxing.com/boxingfor...scorecard.html).
Paulie jabbed Diaz arms a lot, just personally I didn't find that as impressive as Max did. He did come on down the stretch.

Paulie fought like a warrior whilst his shorts were falling down. It reminded me of when his hair was falling into his eyes uncontrollably and still he fought on before eventually getting the locks sheared mid round. Great stuff. Malignaggi's stock definitely rose again after this fight. And I agree totally that that kind of scorecard is sick and only harmful for boxing.

yeah.. Paulie has always had heart... but damn when those trunks were falling off? it takes a man to fight like that. man damn near brought a tear to my eye. i hope he does well.

It was awesome. I was glued to the screen thinking "are they going to drop all the way down?". It was one of those epic situations you can only find in boxing.

No I think you pretty much named them all give or take a few. Most of us had it the other way.
As for the trunks...well, that was the refs best work. Pulling them up for Paulie. I think he was searchin for a wallet myself.
Re: Nate Campbell talking about corruption, big heads and Juan "judges are mine" Diaz
anyway i thought paulie fought his ass off and deserved the decision.

Well I know a few others on that thread did too. I don't know everybody's views. I can see 7 rounds for Paulie but I don't agree with it, a draw would have been ok.

I know Ouma, and you'll have to forgive my cynicism. In refs, judges, the whole works. If it was scored remotely close I don't think this ever would be a debate. Just too many bad examples too frequently. It has gotten to where when a fight is scored properly now...it is almost surprising and shocking.
