Thoughts on tonight's UFC
Nog vs Randy
To me the difference here was punching power. Nog's ability to get it to the ground mostly came from rocking Randy. Randy landed some great shots but couldn't seem to really faze Nog. Tremendous fight by both guys.
Silva vs Jardine
What can you say? Jardine is just a little too chinny for big punchers. The guys is tough, fit and gameplans well but just can't take the big shots well.
Marquardt vs Maia
Not sure we really got an answer here. Nate had an opening and put Damian on ice.
Leben vs Rosholt
I thought Chris won the first two rounds but seemed sluggish and while he never looks real technical or polished really didn't seem to be all there. Rosholt had a better gas tank and got the take down easily in the third then pulled a pretty sick sub
Vera vs Krys
Krys to slow and not technical enough just not the same level. That being said Vera didn't seem to have much stank on his punches
Soom real good prospects on the undercard especially Aaron Simpson
Re: Thoughts on tonight's UFC
Only caught the last 2. Jardine went to Valhalla and Thiago did a great imitation of Arnold Swartzenegger post fight haha. (he talks funnay)
Couture is a warrior. Don't care what anyone says. 46 years old and still standing at the end of that, meh. It's impressive. But yea, Nog beat him soundly.
What's with that hole is Nogs back anyway?

I'll sweep the plate off here. JTRocks gonna step up in a bit and call Couture a girly man. You heard it here first folks...

No I shared my thoughts already and am more than willing to copy and paste them again ;D
Re: Thoughts on tonight's UFC
Never was a big Couture fan, he is in great shape like BHOP at 46 but Rany has always been mediocre at best with a few feel good wins, he has no more left of an already iffy chin. Please Randy leave before people realize that you are probably the most overrated fighter in MMA history

;D B.J. Penn's 14-5-1 that doesn't look that great, they've both lost to a lot of good fighters. Anyway he's a world champ in two divisions. Doesn't that kind of disqualify you from being mediocre? Overrated is ok but I don't see how he's mediocre.
9 more wins than losses while hitting your prime has tons more upside than 6 and being 46;D You forget BJ was fighting heavies in open weight contests.. I would say BJ struggled at Welter he dosent belong there, he rules his division and will for years.
Randy fits the mold and thats why guys like Rogan have a bromance with him, but seriously 16-10 is both overrated and mediocre. Not like Holyfield who is clearly past it and rides the merit of his past greatness, he will have a gatepass and history will be more kinder for the majority of the end of his career when looked back on. Couture on the other hand has no excuses, he and his legion of gushing fanboys have removed his age as being a factor in the equation with all the Randy is superhuman Bullshit. So I think every loss is really killing his legacy, his much hyped legacy
Re: Thoughts on tonight's UFC
Randy just isn't nor has he ever been big enough to beat top caliber big HW's. He is very talented but lacks the size and strength to hang in there with equally talented bigger men. I think if he hadn't bounced back and forth between division and simply focused on 205 his record would be much better.

Leben getting choked out was kind of sickening to watch, it looked like he wanted to tap but half way through tapping hes gone and then hes twitching and shit on the ground. It did not look nice at all.

Leben didnt want to tap. He left it till he was nearly unconcios before he tried and it was not enough for the ref to see. I can not blame him for not wanting to submit but when you know you are beaten you should do the inteligent thing and live to fight another day. If he was in a arm bar in the same situation he would have been out of the sport for a long time.
Pride can sometimes be a dangerous thing.

Did yall think Leben looked really off last night? Didn't seem like is usual self to me.

He got busted for steroids, the reason for his hiatus from the ufc. Maybe that's why he looked sloppy and tired. I used to be a fan of his, he always has a punchers chance, lots of heart and a good chin. But watching him throw looping, inaccurate, under developed punches is starting to become painful to watch.
