Does anyone think Arreola has a chance against Klitschko?
I'm a fan of Arreola, but even I admit he may be in over his head here. No chance? What you say?
When asked whether Arreola or Chambers had a chance against the Klitschko's, James Toney said, "Zero. I give them zero" was his initial reply, before adding," Well, ya’ know what, I’m gonna take that back. Chris Arreola got a better chance than Eddie Chambers because he’s got a punchers chance. If Chris Arreola jumps on him within the first three rounds, like he did against Jameel McCline, then he got a chance to blow him out of there. If it goes past three, four rounds, Chris in for a lot of trouble. And the reason why I say that is the only thing Klitschko is going to do is jab, stick-and-move, jab. He can’t do nothin’ else. All Chris has to do is jump on him, keep that guy backing up because he can not fight going backward."

However, there are reports that Arreola is in decent shape: Chris Arreola Looking Good, Strong in Training Camp - Boxing News.
Either way, it is a good heavyweight card. Ustinov v. Boswell and Banks v. Mora.

I think he has a chance for 5 rounds. Headhunting is not the answer, maybe if he goes for Vitali's body he could have a better chance. A power punching heavyweight that goes to the body would be a nice change of pace since all I see are head hunters when someone fights them.
Re: Does anyone think Arreola has a chance against Klitschko?
Of course he does. He's in with an old fragile guy.
Re: Does anyone think Arreola has a chance against Klitschko?
Vitaly does not seem too sure about him, I saw a press event and he did not look 100% confident like normal. Maybe Arreola can get Lyle crying into his pillow, I mean he is younger, hungry and confident but I still ain't sold on him just yet. If he wins then it's gonna be interesting for the division
Re: Does anyone think Arreola has a chance against Klitschko?
Arreola is in with the wrong Klitschko. I would favor him against Wladimir but in no way against Vitali. A puncher's chance is slim against Vitali. But I do like the matchup. Its probably Vitali biggest competition.
Re: Does anyone think Arreola has a chance against Klitschko?
Vitali is 38 years old. I also thought he looked sloppy in his last fight. And Vitali can be dragged into a brawl.
Vitali is the clear favorite, but Arreola definitely has a chance.
Re: Does anyone think Arreola has a chance against Klitschko?
He has a chance but he'll have to work damn hard because Dr Faust is like a wall of bricks. Personally, I don't think he will get through Vitali but he has a lot of talent and an upset isn't impossible.

I'm not medicated, completely sober and have had plenty of sleep ;D
I'm picking Arreola to TKO a cut Vitali early and along the ropes ......then again I also thought Manfredo would outbox Bika :bucktooth:

Haa.Have not thought to much about a distance win but at Vitalis age and minimal resistance in Peter and Gomez who knows?Just hope Arreola does not go out and think himself a waiting boxer, the 1st round of Walker fight:fight:.Really don't know if he has late rnd conditioning, needs to blitz him, stick with what got him to the big show.
Re: Does anyone think Arreola has a chance against Klitschko?
Klitschko is getting on in age and he's bound to get old (in boxing terms) at some point. He also hasn't really been tested since returning to the ring, though he has looked quite good from what I've seen. If he does get old overnight, Arreolo is going to give him hell. However, he (Vitali) still has legitimate power and I think he's going to stop Arreolo.

Same here, a shocking K.O around the 9th and I trust Fritz Sdunek, one of the best and most under rated coach in the business to find the key To Arreola's defeat.
Re: Does anyone think Arreola has a chance against Klitschko?
Vitali is older and nobody knows how healthy he is these days, I read recently he had to cut short a public sparring session because he tweaked his achillies. Arreola is going to really have to prove himself if he is to win no matter what kind of shape Vitali comes to fight in. Vitali is a tough s.o.b and Cris will have to take punishment and withstand it to win.....I don't think he's got it in him to beat Vitali. Cris is too easy to hit, to willing to get hit, and although he throws combinations and has been in with some decent competition to prepare for this fight, I just think there's too much lacking in Arreola's game to come away with the win.
Re: Does anyone think Arreola has a chance against Klitschko?
You have to wonder if maybe a top flight trainer would do well for Arreola. I'm not saying Ramirez (?) is bad, but a more experienced trainer could improve on his defense etc.
Re: Does anyone think Arreola has a chance against Klitschko?
I think he has a better punchers chance than anyone else in the entire heavy division to be honest. Lets face it, no one has reall tested the chin of the Klit for a while. I'm gonna say he can catch the Klit cold within 3 if he's lucky otherwise he's gonna get jabbed and jabbed and jabbed and slow down each and every round until he's beat......
