Two articles. Well depending on how Roy looks against Green later this year, I dont believe BHOP has the activity to beat a quicker Jones. This will be a slowed down version of the 1993 IBF fight.

I've got the distinct impression that the pre-fight pagantry and inevitable trash talking will greatly overshadow the actual fight - but I'm really looking forward to this.
Recent form says Hopkins wins well, but he has been inactive.
On one hand I still think that Jones has the right style to throw hopkins off... on the other hand I think Hopkins looked strong the last time out and there's every chance he'll beat him up.
I think Calzaghe did such a number on Roy because of his work rate and the cut, with Hopkin's punch out put being no where near as high as Calzaghes I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Hopkins will probably try to spoil as he does and Jones, I'd imagine... will be a little cagey so it could stink tbh, though hopefully not.

Been asking for this fight for the last 4 years now, screw dawson...this really will decide who is the king at 175pounds and hopefully these 2 will lay it all on the line and both call it a day afterwards!!
Problem for RJJ is if he looks to this fight in front of the Danny Green Fight. Vernon Forrest overlooked Mayorga, Fenech Looked past Nelson. Do this at your peril history tells us. That said I am very excited at a RJJ V Bhop fight. And even if Green pulls out a miracle it doesnt put the Bhop fight in jeopardy. But if Bhop wins v RJJ it might open up a Green V Bhop fight in Sydney??? God knows we need some fights here.
This should be a really fun event. I really look forward to the buildup and even the fight itself.
I can see Jones Jr dazzling the judges with spurts of razzle dazzle speed, whilst Hopkins struggles to impress with his negativity. I think the Pavlik fight is made into more than what it actually was. It was like Mayweather/Marquez in that you had a man comfortable in his weight making a smaller man come up 2 weight divisions. And there you have it, the more comfortable man made it count.
Hopkins hasn't fought a proper LHW in ages and I think it might show in this one. Jones Jr is still quite a bit younger and that handspeed is still there. He protects his chin far better than in recent fights too.
Which is why I think he wouldn't go for a 60-40 split to the winner. He's been at the bad end of decisions he certainly felt were unjust. 50-50 and 60-40 to a winner by KO is fine by him.Quote:

I see Jones leaning on the ropes. Hopkins having to move forward into range. Jones may throw a few punches, Hopkins counters, and I fall asleep thinking about how good this rematch could have been 13 years ago.
Only way this fight gets interesting is if they decide to 90-10 split the fight for the winner the way fights should be!

Yes this would of been a hell of a lot better 7-8 years back. But just like lewis-tyson its one of those matchups that whatever the current situation needs to happen just to finally clear things up.
This SHOULD be the very last hurrah for both guys and i hope the winner and loser goes out on a crown of glory and puts all they can into one last big fight!!
