What are your predictions? I think Valuev's size and decent chin (from what I seen) gives Haye a hard nights work but I just can't pick a winner:-\
Can Haye drop this guy? Can Valuev drop Haye?
I'm not certain who can drop who but I know #1 Valuev likes to hit guys in the back of the head and #2 David Haye is a little bitch.
So unless Haye can #1 Not get hit in the back of the head and #2 Act like a man when it comes time to fight, he's going to be in for a really looooong night.
I figure Haye beats him on points and both fighters have their moments
I can't see Haye getting the knockout really, its going to take something impressive to chop that tree down. I think it depends on how Haye's chin holds up at HW, and if he's going to try to outscore Valuev his staminas going to have to improve a lot. I'd love to be wrong but i think Valuev will win, no matter how well Haye fights he probably won't get a decision if it goes that far and his chins always been a problem
If Chagaev can outbox Valuev Haye will easily, but we know what them judges are like in Germany, should be an easy nights work for Haye if he is at his best.
I think the extra weight may help Haye's chin....but you never know. Valuev isn't that quick and he isn't all that powerful, but he's HUGE and if he hits you you've got to feel something, it's not like he's arm punching out there, his feet are pretty much always set.
If Haye comes in with the right attitude (and actually goes through with the fight ;)) it should be target practice for him....but if the ring is small and they usually are when you put Valuev in there, then it may be target practice for Valuev.
All Haye really has to do is follow Holyfield's blueprint and he should win easily as he's younger and is supposed to have more pop than Evander but you never can tell until he's been properly tested. This is the FIRST heavyweight Haye has fought that has never been KO'd....so we'll see if that makes him gunshy or trigger happy
If haye is smart early on and goes to the body (something I've never really seen capitalized on, valuev looks relatively soft in the body... his body composition is probably approaching 20% body fat and 70% hair) he could substantially slow Valuev down and tire him, which would obviously help him on his way to a UD.
From what I've read though Haye and Booth think he has a decent inside game so I don't know if Haye is planning on countering from the outside... which may or may not work (definitely won't for a decision in germany... :rolleyes:) on points and may not spark the guy out either - Valuev has a decent chin, or so far hasn't fought anybody tall enough to get good leverage behind a shot on him... either way I don't think pot shots should be the staple of the game plan.
I reckon Haye UD, as long as he's smart and is judged fairly. there's always the chance that he won't get close to valuev but I think he is is mobile and quick enough and a 45 year old, punch drunk Holyfield didn't find it too difficult
I can't see Haye getting a decision as I reckon it's too hard for a guy of his size to dominate Valuev in the same way say Vitali could and thing with Haye is he ain't afraid to fight you in your own back yard, gotta give him credit for that really but this time it could cost him.
skel, valid point it should not be too difficult when you put it that way but you know how Haye likes to throw bombs.
I would love for Haye to win but part of me wants to see Vitali Valuev so much I'd take a Haye loss to see it.
I could possibly see Haye getting TKO but not KTFO, Valuev has size but he doesn't really have all that much snap or one punch knock out power (obviously that's still a lot of weight to be infront of).
He has clubbing/pummeling punches so I can see him getting into trouble and having the ref save him but if he does get stopped I can't see him being put to sleep.

OK, if Haye and Booth plan on fighting outside in they had better utilize angles and speed...if Haye just hangs out at range then he's going to lose.
I have a couple questions
#1 Should Haye stick with Booth no matter what?
#2 If Haye should switch trainers, who should he go out and get?
#3 What happens with Haye if he wins and what happens if he loses?
I only question Adam Booth because he was a nobody before he had David Haye and other than David Haye he's got nobody...can a relative outsider in the boxing world create a stable and make something out of himself when he started with nothing, knows very little about contracts, and to my knowledge he doesn't have a history of teaching anyone anything about boxing. David Haye isn't the greatest technician in the ring and if he's as talented as advertised won't it be a waste if he's never taught how to box?
Haye is going to win a wide decision. I'm not sold on him as a legit HW champ at all, but Valuev is garbage.

Valuev is just so big, Haye will need to be at his very best to win.
Unfortunatley I just cannot see Haye getting close enough to hurt the guy and I think Valuev is quite a worker, he's happy to put the effort in and has not bad speed for someone so big.
I'd have felt more confident if Haye was fighting a Klitscho. At least they'd have more chance of being shocked by his speed and I don't think they'd like it up them.
