Who was it?
I watched a fight a few weeks back, where the winner of the fight was going to be a possible opponent of the Khan/ Kotelnik winner. (this fight was a couple weeks before Khans fight)
It was 2 south american guys, the fight was held in the US.
It was probably the best fight I've seen all year, had 5 knockdowns, with the eventual winner picking himself off the floor a couple of times to knock down his opponent.
It was quite a scrappy afair, a real slugfest.
Now I cannot for the life of me remember who the fight was between! I've not seen or heard anymore about either, especially not fighting Khan (which for Khan's sake is prob a good thing as either would have prob taken him out)
I want to keep an eye on their next fights and also find the fight I'm talking about to watch it again.
Any takers?

Re: Who was it?
Maidana already fought Kotelnik it was a close fight in which I thought he won, but the hometown guy got the nod. I had it 116-112 for Maidana, but the judges scored it 115-113 Maidana, 115-113 Kotelnik, 115-114 Kotelnik
One judge scoring one even round gave Kotelnik the upper hand.
I agree Maidana/Ortiz was a great fight a little dissappointing for the finish though. I really like Maidana, but I think he would struggle with Khan's reach and volume.

Thats the one! ;D Cheers guys.
Was a great fight, agreed the ending was a bit of a shame. All action though.
I think Khan would have the speed and reach, but I just don't think he'd have the chin and I don't think Maidana would be getting hurt from Khan, so would keep coming and coming and eventually get a big one in.
I remember seeing Salita in the Jones Jnr undercard (I think) and didn't think he was that special. I see a similar fight for Khan in this one to the Kotelnik fight.
