Just some thoughts about Floyd's latest comments
Ok, I've read a bunch of quoteslately from Mayweather as to why he is disregarding certain fighters as his next opponent. In the last week I've heard Floyd say he won't fight Shane Mosley because Mosley had his chance and turned Floyd down in 1999, so why should hane get his chance now? I've also read that e has said that he's not going to sit and wait around for the Cotto-Pacquiao winner to consider as his next opponent. So this means he's unlikely to consider or wait around for Paul Williams either. So in all honesty, who the fuck is there left to fight? I've been thinking about it and the only other name I can think of that would be vaguely acceptable is Berto. Does anyone think that all his words are just a bargaining tool to lure Pacquiao next, or do you think he genuinely believes there is somebody else out there worth fighting?
Who else would you guys consider acceptable as an opponent?

a famous floyd comment without him bringing up race or the MMA
:o:o:o:o:o
Re: Just some thoughts about Floyd's latest comments
The winner of Adamek/Golota probably.
I have no idea who he'll fight next if not Mosley or people that have fights lined up his Welterweight opponent list has dwindled to Selcuk Aydin and Isaac Hlatshwayo, neither one is appealing by financial standards and it appears Floyd can't make 140 anymore so possibly someone at 154.....Cory Spinks maybe?
Re: Just some thoughts about Floyd's latest comments
Malignaggi at a catchweight of 145 pounds obviously. Malignaggi is just off of a controversial loss, so he is an ideal Mayweather opponent IMO.
Re: Just some thoughts about Floyd's latest comments
He'll fight the Pacquiao/Cotto winner, there will be too much money in that fight regardless of who it is to not do it. Trust that if Cotto destroys Pacquiao, he will become a star.
Berto is fighting Mosley in January anyway. The winner of that fight will fight the Mayweather-Pacquiao/Cotto winner.
Re: Just some thoughts about Floyd's latest comments
I think this is just tactical. But I think he really does detest Mosley and will not let him in. Heck, nobody is letting Mosley in. Cotto declined a rematch, Pac refused even after Mosley conceded to everything even resorting to begging at Roach's gym, and PBF says no. But PBF will fight the winner of Pac/Cotto and if Pac wins then he knows the negotiations may be be tougher than the fight. So he must bluff that he doesn't need the fight and balk at walking away from possibly a 2+ million PPV drawing fight. Nobody wants that and the powers that be must use every leverage tool they have to get the biggest piece of pie they can from the biggest fight in boxing.

I think Pac might be willing to fight Mosley if he beats Cotto... PBF is an idiot for saying that Mosley had his shot 10 years ago and passed it up so he's not going to fight him now..
This is why I love the Mexican fighters... I love it when post fight interviews have an interviewer asking them what fights they really want or don't want, and all the fighters say is "I'm a fighter, I just train hard, and i'll fight anyone. I leave that up to management, but i'm ready to fight anyone"... Margarito, Cotto, Pac, and many others have that attitude.. None of this, oh he dissed me 10 years ago so I aint giving him nothing now..
Well I partly hope Floyd doesn't even end up with a fight..I would like the winner out of Pac/Cotto to deny Floyd, which is what Floyd wants anyway, because he said he doesn't want to wait,,, then I want them to line up Mosley after his win in January.... Leave Floyd out in the cold for being such a b!tch about everything..

He will have to fight the winner of Cotto v Pac, he is intimidated by Moseley and no one will watch him against any blown up lightweight again.

If that's the case, then Mosley should be left out for being a bitch 10 years ago (Even tho Shane ducked Floyd more times that that & more recently than that)
If I needed a guy to make the fight & he refused for whatever reason, i'm certainly not going to take a pay cut (a Pac or Cotto fight would get more $) just to fight him now that he needs me.
Floyd has every right to turn Shane away, especially after the disrespectful & unprofessional way Shane went about asking for the fight.

Some fighters would see that as all the more reason to get in the ring with them and give them a beat down..
Like I said, we are talking about big time International boxing where fighters are making 10's of millions of dollars per fight, due to the fans wanting to see the fight.. It's not school yard sessions where if someone disses you, you hold the grudge like a girl....
I admit i'm a little harsher because it's Floyd, but the Mayweathers disrespect just about everyone in the game, and if that was the basis of whether someone should fight another or not, then Floyd would probably only have half the record he has now..
I understand why Mayweather don't want to fight Shane.. I don't agree with it..

If Shane beats Berto & if Mayweather beats the Pac-Cotto winner (yes that fight will happen), then I'm sure they'll fight. The animosity is largely overplayed imo, if you read between the lines, they actually spend an awful lot of their social time together for guys who apparently can't stand one another (ie interviews with both about them playing basketball, cards & pool together).
Let's put it this way, you've got a 1 day job, one which you can earn $1000 for, the other which is $600. Which one would you prioritize doing first?

I wouldn't be surprised if Floyd accept Ivan Calderon's challenge. ;D Calderon repeated called out Floyd before his rematch with Mayol.
Re: Just some thoughts about Floyd's latest comments
I find it hard to believe Floyd is dodging Mosley, Pac or Cotto......I think he would be a handy favorite in all three fights and would most likely win all three fights......Floyd talks his smack to drum up interesting interviews, get himself in the spotlight, and build for fights. He also runs down his opponents to give him bargaining power in negotiations.......
If Floyd fought Pac or Cotto I would pull for the latter, if he fought Mosley I would pull for Floyd.....I am getting to the point where I root against any Golden Boy fighter.....;D;D
