Re: Roach wants some more
Lol! Whats next: Cotto can't hit Manny the first minute of each round or get fined and disqualified ? This is getting ridicules with these demands I would think if Manny gets by Cotto it would be somewhat of a tainted win because it doesn't seem like a fair fight between 2 professionals. So what happens if Manny hits Cotto low? I can't wait to see if Manny does get by Cotto and fights PBF what demands are going to be in place then?
Re: Roach wants some more
ridiculous if this happens i hpe Cotto puts a auto disqualification if Pac headbutss him cuz thats how Pacs cuts his opponents...
Re: Roach wants some more
I hate to agree with Roach but I think I do on this one. If you watch the Judah fight Cotto did hit him low at LEAST 5 times. Granted this is a fight and thing's get a little heated in the moment. I don't think an automatic disqualification is right but you can be sure people are now listening and watching Roach's little rant and on the fight night the ref will be looking a little more for the low blows then usual. I think a smart move by Roach but a bit embarrassing if he actually meant an immediate disqualification.
Re: Roach wants some more
What a load of crap, he has no right to try and meddle with the rules and the ref has the job of deciding what punishment to dish out, not him.
Getting on my nerves...
Re: Roach wants some more
Freddie can fuk off!!
I know the man is a good trainer, but he's let that go to his head too much. Does he now think that he's Keith Kizer, the Nevada State Athlectic Director, and that he can call all the shots, and make the all the rules? Please.
Like I said, fuk off Freddie. :fyou:
Re: Roach wants some more
I think the thing about asking for an automatic disqualification is bullshiit, but the fact is Cotto does low blow quite a lot. He did it more than he should have got away with against both Judah & Clottey. I mean he's great to watch but Cotto is by no means a clean fighter.
But it's the kind of air of authority that Roach & most of the Pacquiao team seem to think they have now that is getting on people's nerves. When I met Roach he was a really nice guy as was Floyd Mayweather Sr actually, but both come across as the biggest pricks you'd ever heard in the media
Re: Roach wants some more
Hype and putting pressure on the ref, that is all it is.
Re: Roach wants some more
Cotto does have a bad tendency to hit low when he is hurt, but just get a good ref, I think Kenny Bayless would put a stop to that quick. Its not just Roach, but every coach who stands opposite of Cotto that worries about low blows, that being said, let the ref do his job. Roach shouldn't be whining about this.
Re: Roach wants some more
;D I don't know why you guys take stuff like this so seriously, its just head games with Cotto and trying to get a referee to pay attention to something, no different than if a trainer talked about holding before a fight with Hatton or using the elbow before a fight with Floyd, no different than a college basketball coach complaining about one call in order to try to get the next. There's nothing new here.

That's right. It's kinda like those tv lawyers who say some thing or ask some question they are not allowed, then quickly say, "withdrawn" as soon as it gets objected too. But the fact is, you can't unhear stuff, and it has an impact. I think it is smart.

Mayweather uses his forarm, not his elbow. Anyways I think its valid, I think refs should look out for Hopkins and Holyfield's heads when they fight, They should look out for cheap things fighters do. Fighters have to be accountable for their actions.
Re: Roach wants some more
Yup, well.
He is worried about Cotto's response if he gets stunned early by a Pacman flurry. I havent read the other responses, but i'm sure someone already dropped the Zab fight.
Cotto's not going to do it to Pacquiao anyways, I'm pretty sure of that. If Cotto wins his stock quadruples, and if he loses it was against the real p4p #1 spot holder his stock still skyrockets anyways.
Win or lose it's a win/win for Miguel.
But even if Cotto wins he will bleed. I don't think he'll pull low blows, the event is too big. Miguel will use his latino machismo and win with pride or lose with pride. He makes more money and exposure afterward either way.

Don't you know that if we don't get ourselves worked up over everything Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao and/or their associates say, then the whole world of boxing will simply fall apart
Re: Roach wants some more
I don't care if he was ust fcking around if Roach was posting here I would give him a sad click.
