Football Manager 2010 anyone?
Anyone else looking forward to the release of possibly the greatest football management sim in a few weeks?
It tends to get slightly better every year, though recently I've found myself only buying it every other year cause I'm too attached to the older one and the 25-year career I've had!
17 days to go!!!

Can't wait mate been an addict for 10 years. Still enjoying FM2009, it was the first version where I really got into making tactics (spend 3 days building/testing them) which made the game even better
Apparently FM2010 is up for pre-order for £17.99 on Zavvi ;)

The one game that is just too addictive to play
unless youve got endless hours to spin away you will find yourself at work dying to get home so you can spend the entire night working your way through the league.
Ive often found myself wacking on FM at5 in the evening and still playing come 2 in the morning!!

Errr, doesn't have that affect on me ;D
You're dead right though it does take over your life.
My mate had a mate who was a paraplegic and he was playing it 20 hours a day, they had to take the game and bury it in his garden so he couldn't get to it - and that is true ;D

I usually try and ensure there are a few soft things around me when I play, cause throwing cans and solid things at walls in frustration is too damaging.
The usual 93rd minute equaliser with the opposition's first shot on goal always gets me throwing stuff.
Re: Football Manager 2010 anyone?
The demo for the game's been launched today for anyone interested....
Search for FM 2010 demo or Mirror football, should bring it up.
if you can't wait for the real thing. Like I'm getting any sleep tonight! :p
Re: Football Manager 2010 anyone?
I have 07 08 and 09. But i still use 07. To be honest i was crap at 08 and 09, not sure why but i sucked. Im always Sheff Wed, usually storm up and challenge/win prem every year. But in 08 version i had by far the best squad but couldnt finish higher than 4th.
So of course i quit and played easier one.
I want something challenging, but not that challenging...i want a challenge i can do! (Lisa Simpson)

dude
I'm seriously thinking about throwing this shit away. I've spent the weekend doing almost nothing but playing it. And when I was out with friends Saturday night I was angry with them for distracting me with their trivial life things.
My Leeds team is stacked. Stacked. Barcelona were a bunch of bitches with my Messi offer. 1 million paid off in installments over 48 months. Oh no, that's not good enough. What?

I'm seriously addicted too mate. Was Notts County on Patch 10.02, had millions to spend and got the 3 straight promotions into EPL. Then was Mab City. Got £80M to spend (which is really £320m when paying over 48 months) and then got the same in season 2, was pissing all over everybody, but got bored. Gonna start a new save today

Re: Football Manager 2010 anyone?
I just beat Blackburn in the FA Cup, now I have Arsenal coming to Leeds in the third round, I'm gonna sick my psycho Cameroonian defensive midfielder on them. Legs may be broken, it can't be helped.
For some reason I didn't even think of picking a Premiership team, wanted to go with a lower level team first.
Re: Football Manager 2010 anyone?

Re: Football Manager 2010 anyone?
In 2021 now (FM2010) and just won the prem for 4th (5th in total)consecutive year with Sheffield Wednesday. Im getting to the point of boredom now as for me its all about building a team. But I can't resign this far in as I will forever just be checking on them and thinking of them as my team. I'm considering even selling my whole team and rebuilding but then i'd probably get the sack as the expect a title win.

I know what you mean about the fun part being building the team. I get bored after 3 seasons, I just like building the team and changing the staff etc, when that is all sorted and you are just playing games, I lose interest.
Re: Football Manager 2010 anyone?
I lost 5-3 to Arsenal. Went down a goal quickly and just decided to go for it and went all out attacking and really had a boatload of chances (how many breakaways can you fuck up Jermaine Beckford?) but they tore me apart on counters. Was kind of happy with it actually, outplayed them for long stretches and it was the real thing Arsenal, Fabregas, Arshavin, etc.
I can see myself getting bored with it after a bit. Its just the challenge of advancing up, going through league one, the championship and then making it to the premiership. If i finally won the Prem I'd probably just quit.
