Froch: Dirrell looks gaunt
Carl “The Cobra” Froch and Andre “The Matrix” Dirrell will weigh in ahead of this Saturday’s Super Six World Boxing Classic showdown in the historic setting of Nottingham’s famous Old Market Square at 5pm on Friday. As always, Froch is confident that he will make the weight without any difficulty but he believes his Dirrell may be struggling to shift those last few pounds. “My weights down, I was already a pound inside the 12 stone limit when I woke up yesterday morning so that won’t be a problem,” said the WBC super middleweight champion. “I’m eating good food and I’m feeling very strong. Dirrell’s quite tall for a super middle at 6 foot 1 so I think he probably struggles a bit to get down to 12 stone. From what I’ve seen of him since he arrived in the U.K. he looks a bit like a boiled chicken the way his cheeks are sucked in. He looks quite gaunt so maybe he’s struggling with the weight because when I met him in New York a few months back to launch the Super Six tournament he looked a lot fuller and healthier. He looks a lot different now so I think he has to work very, very hard to get that weight down and I’m sure travelling from the States at the weekend won’t have helped either.”

Ha ha, well to be fair, the opponent that time had been a world champ like 10 years?
Not someone that hasnt faced a top 10 fighter from his own weight that is in his mid thirties;D

They start the Nottingham show at 8 until 10 then show AA v Taylor, then go back to Froch after 2am. In between they will show Froch's last two fights v Pascal and Tyalor.

What the fuck?
Who's bright idea was that?
Why would Brits want to watch a German and an American fight at 10pm UK time and then wait until the early hours of the morning to watch a British guy fight?

How the hell do you work that out??
Pascal was ranked top 10 in three organisations, number 9 in the ring rankings.
Taylor was ranked top ten in all 4 world bodies and was ring number 5, so how the hell has he not faced anyone in the top ten.
Also how is he in his mid thirtes he just turned 32 the other week?
Im no Froch fan but after 26 fights if he beats Dirrell another top 10 fighter his resume at this stage much better than Calzaghes was at the same stage. Also froch didnt turn pro till he was 24, so if you want to compare his path to Calzaghe at this stage Calzaghe was fighting Will Mcintyre in Denmark!!!!

Because the British guy is worth 2 bob. He doesn't have a proper TV deal (hence this primetime bollocks) and has about 7,000 fans turning up to watch him.
Abraham-Taylor has about 15,000 seats sold and will be watched by 5-10 million on German TV.

Because Brits arn't the audience clearly. Showtime are the broadcasters and so obviously they need to cater to the American audience. I guess 2am over here is about 8 pm there, they clearly wern't going to put showtime on 4 pm or something to cater for us :p
I don't mind the 2am start, its the same as Calzaghe Lacy and that was one of the best British fight nights in years.
