Whether he can also Knockdown Cotto remains to be seen. What is evident though is that he still has enough power to knockdown a jr. middleweight.. twice! wow.
And since this was sparring, headgears were worn and thicker gloves used i presume. Shawn Porter is no pushover being a 2007 Golden gloves champion, an alternate to the US Olympic boxing team, and having a 10-0 record.

Quite frankly, I don't believe anything that comes out of Pac's camp. They like to play these stupid games by using the media to try and get into the other guys head. Classic Roach move.
Just like I didn't believe it last week when it was being reported that Pac got floored by Porter, and stayed down for more than 10 seconds.

He should porter is an amature and actually not really all that great compared to PAC who is pfp best out of all boxers amature and pro. When and if he knocks down cotto then I'll be like dayyyumm, but sparring reports ???!!!

I don't know what to believe coming from this camp anymore. They are media hungry way too much. If Pac did floor Porter twice then that is something very astonishing. Porter is a big, fast, strong, jr. middleweight. Porter is no ordinary sparring partner. But I am with many people who believe that Roach is just sending this kind of stuff to the media in attempt to get into Cotto's head. I just don't believe it. Every week we have some kind of breaking report coming from this camp.

Thats why his posts are so bad, not enough blood in his brain. We shouldnt knock the guy though, not every p4p elite fighter out there could (alledgedly) knock down a novice pro who WON THE GOLDEN GLOVES 2007 (i think the fact that he was still an amatuer 2 years ago tells us how excited we should be really...)

Willie Gibbs is alleged to have tagged Wladimir Klitschko sparring. This stuff is fun to tell other people after the fact but without being there we can't really judge. Porter is a talented dude of course he hasn't accomplished much in the pros but he is talented and that does count for something. However, this stuff is almost always just fodder for the media and you can definitely never judge before the fact.

No excuses. I will just be very impressed. I was impressed with what he did against Hatton too. I was also gutted like a fish, but I know a good performance when I see it. My only excuse was that I thought Hatton fought stupidly, and I stand by that. But you can't really argue against a second round knockout like that.
Pac keeps stepping it up and up and up, it's going to come to a crunch at some point and Cotto is clearly the biggest and baddest challenge yet. Maybe Pac will destroy him, but I like to think Cotto has a very decent chance.
