Should Bernard Hopkins remain rated?

Should Bernard Hopkins (currently #1) remain rated or be removed to the pool, as his last fight was on the 18th of October ’08?
He does have a fight scheduled for December but would have been out of the ring for nearly 14 months by that time.
Bernard Hopkins
Re: Should Bernard Hopkins remain rated?
I say keep him rated.. if he didn't announce any fights by the end of the year I would of suggested to remove him.. but luckily for him he's announced a fight.

Man I'm really torn here guys, gonna have to think about it over night.
Yes he's fighting, BUT he's fighting a guy who has made a career of losing to older fighters. I respect that it's for charity though. And of course the elephant in the room is Dawson/Johnson II which would be for the championship is really tempting.

I'm with you, I feel he deserves to be rated but the inactivity is concerning. I feel he should be demoted at the beginning of November to open the way for Dawson/ Johnson 2

That sounds reasonable, I can get behind that. I'm think worse case scenario Ornelas (sp.?) beats Hopkins by some freak accident and then look who's number one. The winner of Dawson/Johnson justifiably should be our champ, because Hopkins fighting once every 14 months doesn't cut it for me.
Re: Should Bernard Hopkins remain rated?
The pool is closed and I am a bit late to vote but I'll give my 2 cents on that one: YEah, based on his performances and on the quality of the opposition he's consistently having (well, maybe not for his bout in december but the old man deserves a gift, too). I also consider his age and the fact that being on the very last miles of his career, he tries with all his might to get the best options available to top the whole.

Bernard Hopkins remains rated by a vote of 4 - 0
