Best Sports Books
Like always when I decide to make a list I instantly forget a number of obvious ones.
Anyway, a surprising amount of soccer books came to mind for me.
The Black Lights by Thomas Hauser, boxing. Amazon.com: BLACK LIGHTS: INSIDE THE WORLD OF PROFESSIONAL BOXING (Sweet Science: Boxing in Literature and History) (9781557285973): THOMAS HAUSER: Books
Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer by, well, somebody, follows the group of Alabama football fans that have bought RVs and drive around to each game and do really nothing else, nuttos. Edit-by Warren St. John. Amazon.com: Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer: A Road Trip into the Heart of Fan Mania (9780609807132): Warren St. John: Books
Fever Pitch by Nick Hornby, soccer. Amazon.com: Fever Pitch (9781573226882): Nick Hornby: Books
The Miracle of Castel di Sangro by Joe McInness, soccer. Amazon.com: The Miracle of Castel di Sangro: A Tale of Passion and Folly in the Heart of Italy (9780767905992): Joe McGinniss: Books
The Professional by W.C. Heinz. A pretty famous old sportswriter, this is actually a fictional book about boxing, a sports writer gets invited to the training camp of a 1950's middleweight contender and follows him there through who his shot agianst the middleweight champ who seemed pretty SRR'ish to me. Amazon.com: The Professional (9780306810589): W.c. Heinz, W. C. Heinz: Books
Strangely enough, thinking about this I've read almost no sports biographies.
