Tent Boxing!

Hi their folks,i've not long been reading the start of a book i picked up from the shelf at me local libary called "Tent Boxing" written and witness by the man himself Wayne McLennan.I've only read about 10-12 pages of it so far but its a really interesting read.Its a read on true events of a boxing roadshow that travels throughout in the Austrailian back drop.It sounds a great read soo far.I was wondering if any of you have read this book or have heard any history of these "Tent Boxing" venues!!

Two of my older friends i their 70s,one I was with when he died just the other year, have stepped up and fought in them in northern Queensland.They used to have an aboriginal fighter (very thick skulls) who was an ex boxer in their ranks and not many people could go 3 rounds against him.

I've read that these Tent boxing tournaments throughout the Austrailia back drop are still going now.Does anyone on Saddos come from Oz,and do they know anymore details of these events??
