starting back on the punchbags
So after a good 8years of being completely inactive ive finally gave in to temptation and have purchased an addidas punch bag which now currently resides in one of my spare rooms.
Upon putting it up i realised i absoloutely hadnt a clue where to start off and proceeded to aimlessly throw punches for 20-30 minutes until i became bored.
any advice.......
Re: starting back on the punchbags
You can get a boxing ring timer and work in rounds instead. There's a boxing ring timer thread in the important/useful posts subsection of this board where you can download an mp3 of 6x3 minute rounds.
If this is just for working out at home, you can just stay busy for however many rounds you are willing to go. I think that you'll be more satisfied if you learn how to punch properly and also have a little plan of what you're going to work on before you hit the bag. Maybe you'll have a round where you only jab or throw a particular punch. In another round you can work the body or go over some combinations.
