Joachim Alcine v. Christophe Canclaux
Although not nearly as big as the Bute/Andrade fight this past weekend, Montreal is set for another big fight this weekend. I've seen Canclaux before (maybe on a Mormeck card?) and thought he looked like a solid fighter. Canadians and others, who wins this one?

I think Alcine can pull it out, this is a very good technician with very decent speed and strength. Against Santos, he was doing fairly good till he got floored. As far as I am concerned, Alcine has the potential to become world champion again (perhaps not for that long) but still become again world champion and has 2-3 good years of boxing remaining.

Alcine will win the decision in what might be a boring fight.

Montreal has become a very important city on the world boxing map. Last week, Bute-Andrade fight ; this week, Alcine-Canlaux fight ; Next week : Pascal-Diaconu fight.
What a good way to end 2009.
As for this week, I am afraid for Alcine.

Montreal is turning into a great boxing city. No doubt about it. Three weeks in a row with great fights. Is there a rivalrey at all between french-speaking Canada and France? Canclaux is from France and Alcine is from Montreal.

Montreal is definitely great by these times, we had a couple of world champions too, Bute-Pascal, Molitor, Diaconu and some other like Olivier Lonchi who have also been involved into championship matches. Selling 21 000 seats in montreal for a program is something really as well if you have a good card, I've read somewhere it was now considered one of the Mecca of boxing and I as a fan, I am really happy about that. It might be a tough one for Alcine but I believe he will make it, he has to because it is somewhat a very decisive moment for his career and perhaps his last chance to climb the rungs and have a last shot at the crown.

I'll take Canclaux. Not seen much of him, just heard McGirt's training Alcine :D
