Hopkins still wants Jones
And failed geography while in the pen...

Bernard Hopkins still insists that his rematch with Roy Jones Jr. is viable despite Jones’ first round KO loss to Danny Green. “The Executioner” implied that the stoppage was too early. “Let the man defend himself to the point where he’s either down or basically quit,” he stated. “Everybody knows what happens when you go over to Europe. That’s why I would never go over there.” (Note: Green-Jones was actually in Australia).

You don't always get what you want..............I want a Porche
Re: Hopkins still wants Jones
and he still "doesn't want" Dawson...
Re: Hopkins still wants Jones
Hopkins wants a big payday and an easy win.....
Hopefully Jones retires.

Bernard Hopkins is a douche bag, Jones gets popped 63 seconds into the fight, he can barely stand up for the count then goes on another 50 seconds getting pummeled without answering any of the punches being thrown by Green. There was still another 38 seconds of the round to go FFS. Bernard Hopkins is talking through his wallet!!
Re: Hopkins still wants Jones
You can understand Hopkins frustration, but he is clutching at straws a little bit in trying to justify a second Jones fight.
We should wait and see what Jones has to say first, the only thing he seems to have said is that he is back into retirement.
What happened against Green was humiliating, it was bordering on Amir Khan territory. You would have to assume that at 40 retirement is the only option, but it's up to Jones I guess. There is no doubt that the market for the fight will have been dampened somewhat, and with Hopkins the huge favourite.
Part of me would love it for Jones to comes back and decision Hopkins, but the other part wants him to give it a rest and not get hurt. The indications are that once Hopkins lands clean, Jones will not take it too well.
Re: Hopkins still wants Jones
hopkins only wants this fight cause he knows rjj is easy pickings at this stage.
Re: Hopkins still wants Jones
Bhop should scrub Roy from his list and concentrate on Dawson or retire.
Re: Hopkins still wants Jones
I think that if Jones would win against Dawson it would erase a bit of his last few defeats stains and he could call it quit after. However, it seems that Hopkins for some reasons is like good wine and is getting old better than Jones, either better genetics or not the scars of having been Heavyweight and coming down. Still, I don't think (though i would love it) that Jones can beat Hopkins at this stage and I would prefer to see him retire, which is the best thing to do in his case.

Hey stranger things have happened in the sport of boxing. This is a grudge fight that these 2 have been wanting for years. I think it should happen just not on ppv. Let these old dogs fight and get it out of their system once and for all.
