What about the Frankie Gavin fight hahahaha!!
That has to be one of the worst stoppages I have ever seen the guy was comfortable throwing back some decent shots. That ref should be banned from boxing.

think your going a bit over the top mate, he was taking some big shots
Big shots??? No disrespect mate what fight were you watching? The bloke was fireing back and wasnt even in any trouble, seriously I was in stitches I cant remember a worst stoppage in recent times made the Calzaghe-Manfredo stoppage look like Manfredo was about to be dicapitated!
It is always the same with a Warren fighter , i mean if you are not going to give the opponent a fair chance , then what is the point of making the match in the first place?
Manfredy vs Calzaghe was a bad stoppage. Of course Manfredy was out of his league, not to mention weight. Sure he would have been knocked out anyway, but at least give the fighter a chance if he fills all the requirements, by being ready and able to resume fighting.
Just an observation.
It was a daft stoppage but in general I wasn't impressed with Gavin.
ive got to admit im really not that excited with Gavin after this fight.
Lets not forget every fighter can have off nights, time will tell.
Thinking about it most of the worst stoppages I've ever seen have been in British fights, usually promoted by either Frank Warren or Mick Hennessey. Some of Tyson Fury's early stoppages were shocking, there was one against a German guy in a kilt (don't ask) which was basically the guy dropped his hands to protect his balls which Fury had hit twice & the ref stopped it. Interestingly enough a friend of mine was ringside & said ol' Mick was screaming 'just hurry the fuck up & stop it Howard'. Subtlety obviously not his strong suit :-\
There was a Ricky Burns one against a Ghanaian guy that was a shocker, Burns had been getting a little outboxed by this guy & the first time he caught the guy Ian John-Lewis (the king of bad stoppages, see last prizefighter with him stopping Michael Grant) waved it off with the other guy wondering wtf he was up to.
I'm not sure what the worst was but the Gavin stoppage rates pretty highly for shit decisions considering he was actually throwing a punch at the time.
The Gavin stoppage was a shit call Skel for sure.
Jaz, that stoppage of Grant was pathetic also, it was a bad cut but i've seen worse in 12 round fights. They could have surely done a job on stemming flow in between fights too.....
One of the worst i've seen lately also was a Joe Murray fight a few months back, can't quite remember who he fought but it was stopped kinda like Mandfredo Calzaghe, just hittin alot of glove....
English boxing has a reputation of stopping fights early for our fighters. ;)
