Does Pwill drop or move up in your P4P rankings after Saturday's fight?
Many people had him in their top ten p4p. I know he earned the W, but it was a close win, if not controversial, against a fighter who wasn't on anyone's list (although now may be). Maybe he should drop positions? Then again, Martinez looked excellent, and Paul pulled out the win. Maybe his stock should gain? Was he exposed or does he look even better now?

For me he stays in pretty much the same place in the lower half of the top 10. Martinez is an excellent fighter and the decision really could've gone either way (though most people seem to feel that Martinez edged it).

If Pwill stays the same in your rankings, Martinez must move up, yes?

he dropped in rankings for me. he just doesn't look as unbeatable after that fight.

Absolutely. Martinez was extremely impressive. I've been a fan of his since the Bunema fight, but he both surprised and impressed me against Williams. I can't wait for the rematch.

He stays the same but unless he recognizes the importance of not getting hit it might be a short run.

He rises for me. Pwill showed heart. You can't just blast thru everybody. Every fighter has at least one guy who challenges him. The Punisher dragged himself off the canvas after a punch that very well could have ended the fight, took the next round to recover and fought a gruelling fight. Sure the guy's got faults, but we weren't unaware of them before this fight. It's just that Martinez exploited them. Now maybe Martinez gets more recognition. I'd never seen him before he fought Cintron (and I thought he won that).

Paul already had Quintana. So Martinez is his second. He's very hittable imo.

I still haven't been able to watch the bout in it's entirety but no way he should drop. Martinez is a p4p talent who just doesn't have the wins to warrant being placed in the top 10.
Re: Does Pwill drop or move up in your P4P rankings after Saturday's fight?
Martinez should be P4p already. I feel bad for him for being on the down end of a couple decisions. We all saw him beat Cintron and the majority of boxing fans saw him winning vs Williams. BUt that's boxing.
Re: Does Pwill drop or move up in your P4P rankings after Saturday's fight?
For me Paul could be top 5 p4p now. Martinez may not have been well known to casual fans but he's extremely highly regarded by those in the know and was seen as the best at junior middleweight aside from Williams of course.
Very close fight, Williams got the nod and solidified his reputation as one of the best from 147-160 lbs.
Wins over Margarito, Quintana, Wright, Martinez and 3 world titles in two weight divisions, he's one of the hottest fighters in boxing right now.
My top 5 would be.
1. Pacquaio
2. Mayweather
3. Mosely
4. Hopkins
5. Williams
I think Williams deserves to be above Marquez for now following the one sided nature of his last loss, even though it was a higher weight class.
Of course I understand completely if others put Marquez above him.
But he should definitely be number 6 at least. Actually I forgot Chad Dawson, you could make a case for him being number 6, I think their resumes are roughly even.
Certainly Caballero, Cotto and Nonito 'Only one of my opponents has ever held a world title' Don-fuckingConAire are below the Punisher now no question.
Re: Does Pwill drop or move up in your P4P rankings after Saturday's fight?
In my rankings he drops. I thought he was overrated to begin with but could have been a monster with the right training and a better trainer. It's hard to rank a lot of the newer champs on skill because they win so many fights on pure volume of punches thrown.
Taking into account that this is the second guy who wasn't of the mainstream superstar status to give Williams problems; The fight took place above Martinez's weight division; and the fact that Martinez carried his hands low for most of the fight and countered many of William's punches handily and rolled a shoulder to deflect many of the big bombs over his head (detracts from the arguement that Williams would be the ultimate Floyd nemesis by many a boxing fan)-- all of that takes luster off of William's aura. Granted, there aren't a lot of fighters that will be able to take advantage of these flaws, but it became fairly obvious, that a fighter that could, was determined to, and carried his hands higher to fend off a good volume of punches that Martinez didn't... could make Paul Williams look like half or less than what many fans believe him to be... or in a worse case scenario, a fighter with the same counter punching style, the same resiliance and more pop could have repeatedly hurt and possibly finished off Williams.

But the difference is Quintana got blown out in the rematch. I highly doubt that would happen against Martinez.
