Ricardo Mayorga set to fight in MMA

My favorite boxer, Ricardo Mayorga, unfortunately wants try his hand at MMA and join James Toney apparently.

Mayorga's first opponent from what I"ve read is to be UFC veteran Din Thomas, who is something like 25-9 in MMA.

As much as I love Mayorga and the sport of boxing, I have trained with MMA guys and once they get you on the ground its over if you do not know jiu jitsu.

Mayorga is probably gonna get tapped out, less he can KO Thomas on the feet.

I just saw the James Toney thread in boxing talk and figured I'd throw in my Mayorga thread as well.

A former boxing star thinkin going into MMA is boxing talk in my mind.

Eww. Not another one.

Why can't these fighters just get boxing on a regular basis? Boxing is what they know and do well, MMA is crude and just isn't something that I like to watch.
