Juergen Braehmer sentenced to 16 months!
Brähmer sentenced to 16 months | Boxing News
WBO light heavyweight world champion Jürgen Brähmer has been sentenced to 16 months in prison for an alleged assault which caused bodily injury in a bar incident. Brähmer’s legal team plans to appeal the decision. Promoter Klaus-Peter Kohl continues to believe in the innocence of his fighter and hopes the decision will be overturned. “Today’s verdict is not yet final,” said Kohl. “We will calmly look at the sentencing memorandum and discuss it with Jürgen and his lawyers Eisenberg and King. They’ve already announced that they plan to appeal. Therefore we’re going forward with the presumption of innocence. Due to the positive statements of the experts and that not a single prosecution witness other than the plaintiff testified against Jurgen, I continue to believe in Jürgen’s innocence. We will continue to plan with him.”

Be interesting to see how this pans out. Braehmer has been making a lot of noise in the ring in 2009 he went 4-0 (3 KOs).

He stopped Ricky Hatton a few times in the amatuers and he finally looked like doing something last year.

Aleksy Kuziemski vs. Juergen Braehmer - Boxrec Boxing Encyclopaedia says he was supposed to have gotten a shot at Erdei's title in December. What happened to that?
Re: Juergen Braehmer sentenced to 16 months!
Dude must like it in jail, eh; he keeps getting involved in things that will get himself locked up...

To bad, shades of Scott Harrison. It seems like whenever he gets his career rolling he goes to jail.

It's a shame he's back behind bars :( He was really starting to fulfill his potential.

I don't understand these guys really I don't...I mean you have something going good in your life, you know you only have X amount of years to make it or be at the top of your game...They know it takes almost nil and none to have a career side tracked and that is in the ring yet they decide to go places where they can be put into these situations.....
I don't get it mannnNot just this fellow but in all of boxing through all the years of existance......
Shit if I had the opportunity to make millions and be rich beyond my wildest fantasy I would keep my ass locked behind closed doors like a Hermit outside of Training until my career was over....
Re: Juergen Braehmer sentenced to 16 months!
The guy has serious anger problems, I dont think it's harsh at all this is the 4th/5th time he has been in trouble for similar incidents, he is lucky that is has taken this long for him to do a strectch like this.

Yeah, like James Kirkland... It's like some kind of fear of failure or fear of success. :dontknow:

Seems harsh for me, but I come from NZ where are laws are too lenient... but he gets what he deserves I suppose, if he can't keep his nose clean its his own fault!!!

No comparison. Difference between having anger issues and weak ass substance abuse issues. Not only that but Braehmer was a legit fighter. Harrison was so overrated it was sicking
Re: Juergen Braehmer sentenced to 16 months!
And Harrison was British ;D I don't know, Harrison was never a great fighter but I've never once been sold on Braehmer either.

I thought he was one of those skirt wearing fags.
Re: Juergen Braehmer sentenced to 16 months!
I remember Braehmer was the first fighter to knock Hatton out. He did it in the amatuers, and Rick was out cold. Up until the Manny fight, that was the only time Ricky had been put to sleep.
