I don't understand why this situation is even being given time anymore...

I see that so many people really just can not let go of this...I once found it annoying...I really found it annoying that almost no one was able to look past their views as a fan of one particular fighter and not look at the situation as a whole....The whole thing just became the same post over and over and over again and more then 75% of the time not one new view was put on it...Hell don't take my word for it just got through all the post since this all started....I believe we now hold a record in Guiness for the word "Nuthugger" to be posted on one Forum.....

This has made boxing look foolish, it has been nothing but an embaressment.....NO other sport has had such a debacle....I mean when two men can NOT come to terms for the 40-60 million dollars laid on the table to fight then you know what there is something seriously seriously wrong.......

There are several intelligent ways to look at it all..First one being is it unreasonable to have a fighter tested with the BEST testing available at current to see if they are on PEDS or whatever else? NO of course not....

What is unreasonable is to allow a fighter to dictate such terms...regardless of everything involved..regardless of suspicion it is just not reasonable...Someone posted to me in a reply..."This is a sport that allows contractys to be made that doesw not involve any commissions they are outside vendors" or something to that point...meaning that since there are no exact outlined terms allowed these guys bare able to make whatever terms they want....Sure and he was 100% correct...but you know what there vare linits...What next?....It opens the door for every fighter to make terms that are not required....This could open doors for crazy contract demands....The request by Mayweather himself is not out of the limits but point is he can not decide what he wants whenever he wants...He can not be allowed to have things the way he wants it or nothing at all.....Why because we are in a sport that does have a commission, it does have rules and we can not allow ANY fighter to decide to go above those rules...If he is that concerned he should protest the commission to make it mandatory!!!! for all fighters in all fights....

Second the demands on the money paid per pound over on the Pacquiao camp...Should there be a penalty for coming in over?...YES..is it an unreasonable request? NO....But WTF man....We have such rules ion place and the finer should not be more then already implemented by commissions....Again we can not allow fighters to make such demands in contracts....it opemns doors for craziness.....

If these guys want to make terms outside of the contracts then let it be but we can not make these things mandatory......

Both camps Mayweather and Pacquiaos should feel ashamed...They both know this is all bullshit...yet nto feed theior own ego's they feel it is OK to make such demands....I don't care who is right...I don't care who is wrong....Both men are right in one aspect both are wrong in the other....

Who cares what Floyd has agreed to be it testing or the weight clause...Who cares if Manny is afraid of Needles....Who cares if Floyd once used Enhancements...Who cares if Manny might be on PEDS....

It should all just go away..

we as fans should have some shame because are we BOXING FANS or are we just a bunch of guys who follow Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao?

When 2 fighters act like this and think they are bigger then boxing itself we as FANS should make the decision that they are not....We do other fighters who bust their asses in the ring be it champions or prospects an injustice...guysw who want to njust fight...make a living and hopefully etch out a place in history for themselves.....

Chad Dawson, Glen Johnson, Hopkins, Ortiz, Cotto, Williams, Pavlik, The Kloitschkos, Adamek. Haye, Vazquez, the Marquez brothers and so on....all go out and fight their asses off to just be part of a dream and make a living while emntertaining us...Yet we give these two scmucks Mayweather and Pacquiao our full attention.....FOR WHHAT!!!!...I mean be honest for all the build up we all know the fight will more then likely not live up to the hype and aggrivation...Even if it was a barn burner after all the drama nothing these guys could do would make this as exciting as the build up.....


These guys can only make 60 million combimned with the fans willing to pay..there are a lot of other guys outh there who are more deserving then these two that we could help make such money...

Why not turn the attention towards those worthy?

No two fighters are above boxing.....Floyd and Manny seem to think they are...

I really don't see how the Mayweather camp is in the wrong here. Both men are risking their lives stepping into the ring, if Mayweather is going to have to pay $10 million for every pound he's over, why not make sure his opponent isn't going to have any advantages? There is no boxer's union, there is a free market for this to where if Mayweather wants to know his opponent is clean then he should be allowed to. And why would he relent? You sign to pay $10 million for every pound over and you get sued for wondering why your opponent is scoffing at an offer like this. I think it's one of those things where we didn't have to know about this if it weren't for Pacquiao's hard line stance against being tested by blood. It's well documented that with designer drugs, a random urine test just doesn't cut it. I don't think there is a widespread steroid problem in boxing thus why I think most fighters would have no problems with this type of testing. If Mayweather juiced he would likely be paying that per pound fine, Pacquiao has the luxury of moving up.

I place this 100% on the back of Pacquiao. It's become obvious to me that Pacquiao is hiding something, mostly for the reasons you stated.

I'm pretty bored with the whole issue myself and am not posting about it as much anymore. I think Mayweather was perfectly entitled to demand the tests and Pacs refusal to comply has raised all the question marks.

Missy made a good post in the post before too. Camps do go beyond the rules by stipulating random catchweights and so on. And this for me is far worse than asking for random drug tests, which on an ethical basis are quite justified. Manny Pacquiao was never a WW champion by my reckoning. It was an illegitimate title fight. It should be voided and kept simply as a W in Manny's favour. Cotto is still the champion for me.

Manny is a cheat and that's not even talking about PED's.

I've been blasting Manny for weeks now for not complying with Mayweather. But I did forget to include in other factors into this whole ordeal.

1 thing was that Mayweather went about this the wrong way. He should never have started putting Manny on blast in the public media about being on PEDs when Manny was getting ready to fight Cotto. Add to that Floyd did insult the Phillipines and Flips by stating that they have the best drugs and are drug users (Mayweather stated that in the RA Rugged Man interview).

You factor in that kind of stuff and Manny's ego, then you have the situation today.

What Mayweather should have done was do all this stuff in private and negotiate, if Manny doesn't comply then go public. But what he did was go public first about the PED issue before the Cotto fight, accuse someone, insulted their country and people, and then expect someone to comply with what he wants on Olympic style drug testing.

I'm just seeing it from another angle. If you're making a business deal with someone, you don't try to insult them first hand before the deal gets done.

I always knew the fight was too good to be true so I ain't mega pissed about it, the fact is Floyd Mayweather has rarely fought a true threat, Manny has fought plenty so I know this hurts Floyd a lot more than Pac. Then again, Floyd don't care about legacy so I'd rather he made as little money as possible and just fucked off out the sport. Manny can also fuck off and be a politician or whatever shit he wants to do the fucking cunt.

I have to wonder if the whole thing was a "phishing" expedition/head game gone wrong. PBF thinks let's mess with his head a little, seeing as how it's already been kinda thrown out there, and see how he reacts to the suggestion of Olympic style testing.

Pac probably could have dissipated the whole thing with a flat out no compromise, "No, I've never tested positive. You don't have the authority to dictate the testing rules. We're following the standard rules as they have been followed. If you want different rules/procedures lobby to have them changed with the commissions." This is probably what PBF expected. He would have dropped it from the contract, but would have saved it as a way to try to push Pac's button and get under his skin during the promotions.

Instead there followed a slew of lame excuses and half compromises, at which point PBF and the rest of us had no option but to be suspicious. PBF pretty much had to push at that point, and ironically Pac in the end refused to compromise on the 14 days after (IMO) getting the whole thing off track by compromising on the issue in the first place!

before all this back and forth bickering about blood tests and all, floyd jr. was already a villain to the american public because that is the way he marketed himself. on the other hand, pacquiao had this squeaky clean, wholesome imagine. now, look what's happened? mayweather jr. is still the villain while pacquiao's reputation has taken a gigantic hit. so who's the winner here pr wise? it's gotta be floyd jr. because he has always had this "me against the world" attitude while pacquiao was everybody's media darling. imo, pacquiao has lost alot more credibility than floyd jr. has.

Agreed Totally.

10M per pound is too much. 2 to 3M might be reasonable.

Floyd should have requested the commision to "require" the testing that he wants if that is really the best option. As it is It looks like just an excuse to get out of the fight.
