Im not just going by his movie fight scenes, im going by the alledged fights he had outside of films. For instance, apparentley, a load of Thai Boxers took him on during the filming of The Big Boss and he wupped their asses. Theres no physical proof but im inclined to believe it. What do think?
He coud fight i know someone who grew up with him through their 20"s in China while he was there. He was between the States and hongkong over that time.
He was into the movie scene before he could actually fight as (dont quote me) but I think he was the dude dressed in black in the 60's spy thriller series "The green man".
He was very flexible and real natural gymnist.
Back in Hong kong he got picked on big time by street fools who could really fight and so he went along to Yip Man the then Grand master of Wing Chun and learned all he could through him until he eventually left and studied other martial arts as well before creating his own Jeet kune do.
He was a natural at everything he did. Blessed with all the right goods except born with only one testicle which may have been his impetus to strive further than others.
Anyway him and William his childhood friend who was a great wing Chun exponent and Bruces senior 9so he taught Bruce and paired with him as mates do.
They would get into street fights as a betting thing as they do over there They got into a lot of scraps on the streets back in those days they even went to the Army hq and took on the British soldiers in the ring ,to see how they would go but that had its limits due to the fact they had to think fists only and couldnt use all the other weapons they usually would in a street fight, but they did alright.
The mob over there wanted them to fight for them in the back street betting fights,but William wouldnt be owned and Bruce was out of there already and back in the states. William moved out here and I read a letter from Bruce to him once where Bruce said he wanted to challenge him to a fight to see who really is the best free style fighter there is. But unfortunately the next letter was from Linda i belive, explaining Bruce had passed. He had a brain hemorage from over work and also maybe getting hit as was part of his training regime to take a shot.
=I heard he went to doctor who gave him asprin . the asprin thinned his blood and he hemorrhaged out of control. Very sad he could of been saved easily.
(edit: just found out it was a super asprin and it had a reaction in him that caused cerebral edimia (swelling of the brain).
For the time he was the best!
He bought the west to martial arts and the martial arts to the west.
That didnt get him many favours in some circles in China but him and William had only sworn to Yip Man not the teach the longer flowing style of Wing Chun to anyone while he was alive.
A few interesting facts on Bruce. He was part German. Yeah he was part German. That I didn't know before. And I didn't know he was actually born in the US. Making him an American citizen. Always thought he was born in Hong Kong.
Also heard he was on steroids. Maybe that led to his early demise?

I know that Wikipedia isn't generally a good source, but it has been documented that Bruce died at her home.
