I think Lamon Brewsters career is finally over...
I saw him just losing to Robert Helenius and sadly I think he is done...I always liked him excinting boxer with a big heart...
In an exciting fight, unbeaten heavyweight Robert Helenius (11-0, 7 KOs) impressively stepped up in class with an eight round thrashing of former WBO world champion Lamon Brewster (35-6, 30 KOs). The 6′6½ Helinius dropped Brewster in round two with a body shot and slowly broke him down as the bout progressed. The bout ended in round eight with Brewster taking heavy punishment. Time was 2:31.

I liked Lamon also; But as the old saying goes, its out with the old and in with the new. Because it sounds like Robert Helenius might be someone watch out for.
Re: I think Lamon Brewsters career is finally over...
Brewsters claim to fame was a win over Wlad. In that fight Brewster was getting beat down until Wlad punched himself out....That is also when Wlad was having confidence problems.....Brewster is extremely overrated.....
Re: I think Lamon Brewsters career is finally over...
Brewsters all right.Had nice hands as they go.Loved his war with hometown boy Cliff Etienne years ago.Decapitation of Golota was a highlight reel KO.Looks like its all stepping stone from here on out. This guy Helenius actually any good?
Re: I think Lamon Brewsters career is finally over...
Brewster's been done since the Luan Krasniqi fight. He won the fight by knock out but was behind on the cards and took a lot of punches. Sergey Lyakhovich fukked up his eye in his next fight. Time for Brewster to call it quits
Re: I think Lamon Brewsters career is finally over...
How is Brewster overrated? Whoever rated him that highly, even when he had a belt?
I liked Brewster too, not so much for the Wlad fight but for both the fights VD mentioned, the Krasniqi and Sergei fights were both wildly entertaining, he had a lot of heart that made up for a skillset not as great as others in the division.

Oh man,
I saw the fight last night. I didn't immediately recognize Brewster. Has he put on weight and aged a bit? It looked like part of his problem last night was he got into being predictable, and then on top of that he ran out of gas. That was when the fight was really over.

Like some other posters have said how is Lamon Brewster overrated ? i think everyone knew what he was. An exciting but limited fighter, that always mostly put on a show for the fans.
I don't think anyone ever made him out to be something he wasn't, i mean can you show me one post on this forum, where someone has highly rated Lamon Brewster ?
I just think because he is an exciting Heavyweight, amongst a very boring Heavyweight division. People want to see him do well, just like i do, i mean of course we would. There's not exactly alot of excitement in the Heavyweight division is there ?
I did also like Clifford Eitenne aswell, his 1st round with Lamon Brewster. Is one of the best opening rounds in boxing history.

I watched Helenius on the Haye-Valuev undercard. I didn't think much of him. Lamon Brewster has been way past his not so good best for quite some time now, his name being on Helenius' record means nothing really.
Re: I think Lamon Brewsters career is finally over...
Brewster was done far before his last fight.
Re: I think Lamon Brewsters career is finally over...
Brewster reminded me of joe fraiser when he was younger. not as good but similar left left hook and power
Re: I think Lamon Brewsters career is finally over...
Yeah he was a poor man's Joe Frazier...solid chin, big heart, decent power....but where he differed from Smokin Joe is that his record wasn't as good and he didn't have the breaks as far as who he got to fight.
I would have liked to have seen Brewster vs Sam Peter

That would be a great make or break fight for both of them.
I sensed Brewster was done after the 2nd Klitschko fight. He had none of the ferocity from the first one. I really think the style he brought in the original match was what it would take to beat Wlad. Especially from a smaller heavyweight. But with his comments after I just knew it was time to hang them up. He said something to the effect of wanting to have something left to play with his kids. Logical thinking, yes, but not the kind of thing you want to hear from a guy who gets punched in the face for a living.
