Pathetic & Stupid by the WBO
I was just checking the schedule for the month and I noticed this Fernando Montiel is defending his WBO title against Ciso Morales and on the under card we have Gerry Penalosa fighting Eric Morel for the interim WBO bantamweight title.
How can any one have any respect for these bogus titles when this foolishness keeps happening....Im picking on the WBO but it happens with other sanctioning boards all the time.
Why is it this type of incident keeps happening...it makes the sport of boxing look stupid
Job Biscuit (really is silly)!!!
eh eh!!
Re: Pathetic & Stupid by the WBO
The alphabetical disorder lost almost all credibility these last years. I am not a second surprised by that.
Re: Pathetic & Stupid by the WBO
hell we get to see
Morel Vs Penalosa
Montiel Vs. C. Morales
N. Donaire Vs. G. Guerrero
M. Santiago Vs. B. Concepcion
all on the same card, who gives a shit about the WBO that's a very good card right there lol
Re: Pathetic & Stupid by the WBO
The WBA does this all the time. They create an interim title only weeks after the champion makes their mandatory.
Boxing will be much better off after it rids this cancer.
Re: Pathetic & Stupid by the WBO
I think its a great fight card I just don't know why these organisations do this and think they are going to get positive feedback....but all they are doing is making a mockery of ratings and sanction fees
Job Biscuit (Imberciles)!!
eh eh!!

yup agree, but well the sad thing is that ALL the organizations are doing this bullshit with their, super champion, regular champion, interim champion, continental americas champion, diamond belts, champion emeritus (spelling) bullshit, it's just another ploy to try to sell every single fight as a championship fight and squeeze out an extra buck, complete nonsense
Re: Pathetic & Stupid by the WBO
The surprising thing is that IBF has eschewed all this nosense. IBF only has one champion, that is all. WBA started whith all the pletora of champions, and WBC & WBO followed suit. That is only a play to extract championship fees.
How things change. When I was growing up, the IBF was the least respected organization. They would almost sell a championship. Now they are the only one that has retained some integrity.
IBO looks like a serious organization, but if they emerge as a main sanctioning body the titles would be even more fragmented.

IBF is no better, they strip their "champs" basically right after they win it so that they can have somebody fighting for the title as soon as possible
Re: Pathetic & Stupid by the WBO
Its just to breed familiarity, fan interest for the Montiel/Morel fight. Were due to clash a couple of months ago but was scrubbed.Good card but we just have to wait longer for Montiel to knock Morel out is all :fight:...Penalosa needs to seriously consider retirement.

IBF has a 9 month mandatory period, which leads to more title stripping.
