Fake KO

Has there been a KO where you thought it looked as fake as a $3 dollar bill?

One that comes to mind is Mike Tyson vs Bruce Seldon. I am not so sure about the 2nd and last KO of the fight. Bruce looked fine at the count and then shook his head and was out :confused:.

I don't think it was, but Hatton's ko of Castillo looked suspicious. I think what happened was Castillo realized he didn't have a chance and just stayed down; especially given all the bullshit surrounding that fight I could understand if he just wanted to get out of there.

I didn't think about it that way but it was a bit too early to think someone doesn't have a chance, I mean, it was barely round 4. From the replay, it looks like a well placed body punch. I'll watch the fight again.

I didn't think about it that way but it was a bit too early to think someone doesn't have a chance, I mean, it was barely round 4. From the replay, it looks like a well placed body punch. I'll watch the fight again.

It was a well-placed punch. I don't think Castillo dove and I'm sure he was badly hurt by the punch, I'm just saying I don't think his mind or his heart was really in the fight given what had happened in the lead-up and I wonder if that played a role in his decision to stay down.

Sure, a well-placed body punch, but sometimes you can sense when a guy really wants to get up and continue and when a guy is more like "To hell with this" like it seemed to have happened to Castillo.

That's what I am saying. Not necessarily that that was the case, but that is what it looked like to me.

Oscar couldn't run any longer and didn't want to get his face busted up.

So he took a good body shot and found a soft spot on the canvas.

Then proceeded to pound his fist on the mat in frustration that he could not get to his feet. :rolleyes:

I am not sure about trying to protect his face, specially after fights against Mosley and Quartey where he went face forward to exchange punches with them and other opponents. But the whole pounding his fist on the mat made me think he was over-doing the whole act. Yes, the body punch was connected nicely, no doubt, but the pounding on the canvas? Iiiiiiiiii dunno.

Am still certain to this day that Herol Graham was faking against Julian Jackson.

Anthony Bonsante faked he was knocked out and the ref called the fight over in the first round. This was versus Adonis Stevenson Aug 01, 2008 ;D
