Mark Linkous took his own life...
Just found out that Sparklehorse frontman Mark Linkous took his own life a few days ago (March 6th.) Such a shame... he was really talented.
Not sure if there are any Sparklehorse fans on here, but they are worth checking out if you like slow, haunting melodies with surreal lyrics.

I've never heard of them before, I'm listening to "It's a Wonderful World" right now. Interesting stuff, I can't quite put my finger on who it reminds me of.
What's their best album?
Re: Mark Linkous took his own life...
I've listened to some of their stuff over the years, but never bought any of their albums, by all accounts they were pretty good.
It's a shame he had to go like that, but that's life sometimes. :-\

Yeah, he seemed to be battling depression for a while, obviously it all got too much for him. On the upside, he did leave a legacy of great, heartfelt music behind him, music that people will always enjoy.
In response to CFH, here is the album 'It's a Wonderful Life', recorded in 2001. This is my personal favourite... but the debut album 'Vivadixiesubmarinetransmissionplot' runs it close. Let me know if you want that one too! ;)

I've downloaded all of their albums now. It's pretty good, but it's the type of music that I have to be in the right sort of mood to enjoy.
