IMO, the most execiting fight at Junior Welterweight if it were ever to happen. Surprised why this hasn't ever been talked about it.
Torres' only real loss was against Cotto. Holt's KO win via a viscious headbutt should not have counted.
They both have a very high KO percentage and the action would be non-stop. Of the 63 fights they have between them, 55 have ended in KO...63/55KO's! This is the fight I would most look forward to in the JW division as IMO, it would be the most exciting!
There's a good chance it could happen. None of the belt holders is going to fancy fighting them. Although Maidana probably counts as a beltholder, he's got one of the half dozen WBA world title belts if I remember correctly.
This would be a mouth watering fight...while it lasted. I think Maidana would be too much around the mid rounds. Maidana is sturdier and has less damage.
Torres/Holt III should happen first IMO, settle the score. I question whether or not Torres can make 140 anymore.
Torres/Maidana would be an exciting fight, but I don't think it's likely to happen.
