Need help selecting exercises to aid power
I am trying to design a program I can supplement my training with to help with explosiveness, power and speed. I plan on doing this program 3-4 times a week, 20-30 minutes per session. These are the ones I was considering. Please give me your favorites and thoughts on a program for me.
1. heavy squats
2. box jumps
3. sledgehammer swings
4. russian twists
5. weighted pylo pushups
I would do the same exercises each session. 3 sets per exercise.
thanks in advance.
Re: Need help selecting exercises to aid power
How often do you go to the boxing gym? Do you spar, and how often?
I wouldn't do any powertraining (i.e. heavy squats) on days that you spar or do skill training.
You might want to regular plyometric pushups before you start using a vest.

Re: Need help selecting exercises to aid power
I got to the gym 3 times per week. I jump rope, shadowbox, hit the mitts and the bags. I spar 1-2 times a week, between 6-12 rounds or so.
I used to do more exercises, but this last year I focused on just skill work. I now have entered some ametuer fights, and I want to step it up a little.
Thanks again.
