Yes this was by far his best performance against his best opponent to date.
He's been looking good every since he ran from Curtis Stevens a few years ago to a UD.
He looked GREAT against Anthony Hanshaw a couple years ago.
And he def was playin it safe with Froch late, but I felt he should have gotten the decision.
Dirrell is the fastest boxer in the super 6. Even faster than Ward I think.
I just hope he isn't ruined by Abrahams antics at the end! I really lost respect for him when he did that. IMO he knew exactly what he was doing!Quote:

I agree. I disliked him after the Froch fight, though I still feel he won, but I came around because of the Abraham fight. Even before the fight itself, I thought he came across really well in the pre-fight video they showed, even though I was cheering for Abraham. I'm of the opposite opinion to you guys.
I was impressed with Dirrell purely on a boxing level up to the DQ but the play acting at the end angered me. It's been debated to death on here already so lets not get caught up in that, but I'm of the opinion that the shot wasn't all that hard and Dirrell exagerrated it to guarantee the DQ...
IMO Dirrell's acting overshadowed his performance and undone any credibility he'd gained..

I REALLY don't like it.
The effect that the punch had on Dirrell was purely an afterthought though. Whether he had been perfectly fine or not( although you need to be dim to say the least to feel this was the case imo), if the ref wasn't garbage he should/would have DQ'ed Abraham immediately as soon as the punch landed. All things considering, as long as the punch had any impact whatsoever I don't see how you can blame Dirrell even if he were playing it up, it was a complete and utter cheapshot that deservedly lost Arthur the fight. Why on earth take a chance and fight on when you had already won 8 or 9 rounds at the very least?
Good post. To me though Dirrell was def hurt and was not play acting. To me he looked like he was in shock when he came back round, which is not a condition associated directly with brain damage hence the reason he has come up clear in the brain scan. I looked at the slow mo replay and Dirrells head snaps back to the side violently and delayed reactions as far as conciousness goes is also very common, only thing is you don't notice normally in boxing as they normally spend the second or so they are still concious falling to the floor, whereas Andre was already down so his delay was much clearer!Quote:
