It now official, BHOP has cement his legacy as better than RJJ.

What an execution!
Just watching it was fukking murder.
Re: It now official, BHOP has cement his legacy as better than RJJ.
Hopkins couldn't even beat Jones fairly at this stage. Take away all the bullshit and you've still got a very competitive Jones who gives Hopkins a tough night.
I want to see Hopkins go for heavyweight now in a final attempt to say "Look at this, Roy!". Haye will bust him up and hopefully that will be the end of Hopkins.
Re: It now official, BHOP has cement his legacy as better than RJJ.
Bhop will never achieve the highest feats that Jones has ever.
Re: It now official, BHOP has cement his legacy as better than RJJ.
Bernard Hopkins is just a blue collar fighter....he's the Marvin Haggler to Roy Jones Jr's Ray Leonard. Hopkins is never going to receive the fanfare and the appreciation that RJJ will, but he's an all time great but it's been time to call it a day. I think right after the Pavlik fight would have been a hell of a note to leave on.
Re: It now official, BHOP has cement his legacy as better than RJJ.
RJJ beat Hopkins when it mattered and with one hand.

Well B-Hop was a novice back then, but so was RJJ regarding pro fights. I just wish they would of settled it back in 2001, when they were both at there peak.
Its a shame that the 2 times they did meet, it was when they were novices, and then when they were shot. But i still have no doubt RJJ would of been a clear points winner.
Re: It now official, BHOP has cement his legacy as better than RJJ.
I'm tired of people claiming BHOP was green and all of that nonsense..He was ranked higher jones going into that fight in 93. Prime jones beats prime hopkins 10 out of 10
Re: It now official, BHOP has cement his legacy as better than RJJ.
Hopkins beating a gunshy, way passed his prime Jones Jnr means nothing to me. Jones Jnr in his prime was pretty much untouchable. Forget that fact his ego has put his record where it currently stands, his legacy as one of the finest boxers of the modern era remains intact for me. Put it another way, if Jones Jnr had retired after the Ruiz fight, I wonder just where PFP in the all-time greats he would have been ? Very high I would imagine.

Yes but theres a difference, B-Hop didn't have nowhere near the Amateur experience RJJ did. Because he went to prison and ETC, im agreeing that RJJ beats B-Hop when there both in there prime.
I just said that above, but B-Hop certainly wasn't the same man that destroyed Glen Johnson, Felix Trinidad.
Re: It now official, BHOP has cement his legacy as better than RJJ.
It's a shame Jones didn't stop after Ruiz and Hopkins after Pvlik at least. Neither guy made really huge money in their primes although Jones did better than Hopkins so they both just pushed the envelope as far as possible to hoover up every last dollar. The fight on Saturday was both horrible for so many reasons and totally meaningless. I don't want to see either of them in a ring again.
Re: It now official, BHOP has cement his legacy as better than RJJ.
I think it can be said that they might be equal. But Hopkins should not be ranked above Roy IMO.
Roy Dominated during his time like GODZILLA and Son Goku combined. Yeah he failed to even fight some of the respected names in his weight class but the way he executed and humiliated some of his opponents is unbelievable.

Maybe it should be after the 1st Tarver fight. and he adds another 175 Title.
