Missing link between man and apes found
The new species of hominid, the evolutionary branch of primates that includes humans, is to be revealed when the two-million-year-old skeleton of a child is unveiled this week.
Scientists believe the almost-complete fossilised skeleton belonged to a previously-unknown type of early human ancestor that may have been a intermediate stage as ape-men evolved into the first species of advanced humans, Homo habilis.
Experts who have seen the skeleton say it shares characteristics with Homo habilis, whose emergence 2.5 million years ago is seen as a key stage in the evolution of our species.
The new discovery could help to rewrite the history of human evolution by filling in crucial gaps in the scientific knowledge.
Most fossilised hominid remains are little more than scattered fragments of bone, so the discovery of an almost-complete skeleton will allow scientists to answer key questions about what our early ancestors looked like and when they began walking upright on two legs.
Palaeontologists and human evolutionary experts behind the discovery have remained silent about the exact details of what they have uncovered, but the scientific community is already abuzz with anticipation of the announcement of the find when it is made on Thursday.

It's going to be interesting to see what they've got next Thursday. :)
Re: Missing link between man and apes found
Thanks for the info mate.I'm really into this sort of thing. How we came to be etc. Love learning about the universe and is their other life out their also. Keep me updated
Re: Missing link between man and apes found
Cool will enjoy checking it out and bursting this hype bubble too.
Let's hope it's better than that 'Woman X' they found last week, an entirely new species of hominid apparently, based on the discovery of a single finger. Rather absurdly they also found jewelry and a bracelet in the same cave but they like to believe the two aren't linked as a jewelry wearing non homo sapien hominid living 30,000 years ago is about as absurd as Big Foot living now.
Re: Missing link between man and apes found
What stuns me the most is that people generally wish to be so adamant either way like one side will disprove the other and so all will be solved, thats a joke.
We with our thoughts and brains are less than a mere 0.1% of a 1% on the scale of all universal atoms; only 4% of it all is even formed into matter!
The rest is made of the exact same stuff: energy but un-formed and here we are mentally trying to draw full blown conclusions one way or another from our tiniest of perspectives because our forefather could only think in terms of two points of view themselves right or wrong , God or Evolution.
If and when there is proof found to us evolving or blending with other human species it cant mess with the greater part of me or us anyway.
Physically we are all built of atoms that were once stars, that in itself is a real live miracle.
How these are placed through evolvment or through cross breeding of species (Even outer galactic species as carved onto walls by Egyptians etc).
The physical isnt the end of it or even the greater part of it all, other more valuable parts of us were not just forged out of the dusts of time as were our bodies. If your spirit cant feel it then you are only looking from within the physcial which is a part of that minuscule percentage and the real view just isnt from there. That is similar to a group of ants trying to comprehend the life and times of eagles then arguing over what created the different breeds of ants.

one thing for sure, our DNA is almost the same as a monkey and that has been verified countless times, no matter how much the bible dislike it ;)
