M_D is fine, the earth shook yesterday afternoon. It was a strong one lasting about 30 seconds. We are hundreds of miles from the epicenter but the entire house felt as if it it was floating on water. Weird feeling. The light fixtures coming down from the ceiling swung back and forth long after it was over. Ol M_D is a brave one. He did not jump from his couch and spill his beer all over his pants despite what the wife says.

No disrespect to any one who lives in one of the earthquake prone-zones, I have no doubt they must be hell, but I'd love to experience the feeling of one. Here in Ireland we get nothing extraordinary... a blessing in a way, but boring all the same. ;D

I have a lot of family in Mexicali, I actually grew up there as a toddler.
We have yet to know from 2 of my cousins a boy and a girl.
Who we're out shopping... With light still out still some chaos nobody is sure yet of where they are. This will be day #4 and we are just hoping they have found a rescue area and will be able to communicate with the rest of their family.
I will be going there in May to help out family with whatever I can. At this time aside from just talking to them and giving them comfort I can't do much. It'll be some weeks before I can wire them money or even be able to cross the border.
