Does anyone give Miranda a chance?
Edison Miranda is getting a shot at Lucian Bute and hasn't bad mouthed him once during the promotion, wonder if Ward humbled him.
Anyway considering how Miranda has looked his last times out does anyone give him a chance against Bute? Or is this gonna be a one sided exhibition that will end on a mid round knockout?
Re: Does anyone give Miranda a chance?
One topic up there is a whole thread essentially about this fight. I expect Bute to win but anyone with Miranda's power can never be counted out fully.

Re: Does anyone give Miranda a chance?
To be honest Miranda has no shot barring a well placed hail mary... But even then Bute has a good chin.
It's going to be a clinic with Miranda being methodically broken down. Bute is just too skilled for Miranda. Not to take anything away from Edison.
Miranda is a good fighter in his own right but he peaked around the first Abraham fight and through the Pavlik fight, just looking to blow guys away.
A southpaw with great movement and counterpunching ability spells doom for someone like Miranda. He'll probably get wittled down to a nub just one dimensionally bombing away with one hand due to no other recourse. Bute has too many weapons... Too much speed... and too much mobement.
Game. Set. Match.

A punchers chance...that's about it.

Indeed
Re: Does anyone give Miranda a chance?
it seems like it's gonna be an Abraham showcase. Just to think Max Kellerman compared Miranda to Julian Jackson once.
Miranda will always have a punchers chance but he hasn't punchers chanced anyone in the top 10 at super middleweight, he beat Allan Green but considering the circumstances in that fight Green was at his absolute worst healthwise and weightwise.
Miranda could land his bomb right hand but he'd have to catch Bute early with it I say if it goes past 4 rounds Miranda has no chance.
Re: Does anyone give Miranda a chance?
Yes, I give him a solid shot....he has a new trainer, he seems a bit more loose than usual, and I figure Bute may overlook him.
Re: Does anyone give Miranda a chance?
the same chance i gave andrade second time out. If bute boxes sensibly and doesnt just try to blow his way to victory like abraham did with edision 1st time around then i suspect he`ll take a comfortable decision-late stoppage win
It allows bute to continue to duck the big boys in favour of staying at home. We really should all learn a lesson here from arthur abraham that the moment you cross shores it really is a different ballgame
Re: Does anyone give Miranda a chance?
He always has a punchers chance but these days I question how legit his power really is....He has never knocked out an elite fighter and has made his KO legend status by knocking out second tier or never has beens...
Though I really like the guy because he will go balls out but IMO he is a modern day John Mugabi
Re: Does anyone give Miranda a chance?
It seems since the Ward fight, Miranda has wanted to turn a new leaf and be a bit more serious. He isn't blowing up in weight between fights, new trainer, we will see. I liked him a lot and was on the hype train for a bit, but I doubt he is beating Bute.

Yup, and also remember that most of those said KOs came at 160lbs. He's done little to no damage against the creme of the 168lb division... Henry Porras, David Banks, Miguel Esparza, Joey Vegas and Francisco Sierra doesn't speak much for him at 168. Any good 168lber he's lost against. Abraham the second time around was at Supermiddleweight as was the Ward fight. Lucian Bute will begin inflicting damage early and stop it in the later middle rounds.
Re: Does anyone give Miranda a chance?
Every fighter with his sort of power has a chance at winning it only takes one punch ;)
