How much do you use your Mobile Phone?

That's assuming you have one.... I don't.. I hate the damn things... I like my time to myself without anyone, anytime, being able to bother me...

Anyway, I ask because at work we have a customer service section on the floor below with a tonne of young people and they are ALWAYS on mobile phones.... Upstairs I work in Revenue and we have Credit/Sales as well, and people up there are more mature, so they are rarely on mobiles...

But the people down stairs, they are in customer service so their whole job is to be on the phone... But literally every time I go out for a cigarette for 15 minutes, the same people come out every day and they are on their mobile phone the whole time.. From the second they leave the building, all the way down to the smoking section, and then all the way back... And in the corridors of work their is always people on their phone... One girl that I have been seeing for the past 6 months, I have never ONCE seen her without a mobile phone to her ear...

I mean, just who or what the fuck is that important that you need to talk to them at every single opportunity..

Like, I have gotten by without a mobile phone for the past 5 years and I have not missed it for a second.... And then, even when I had one, I'd only use it for little things like to order a pizza on the way home so it's ready when i'm into town. Or call home to see if we have eggs or something if i'm planning on making something...
But I just don't get these people who are just always having to call someone.... Even certain guys are always on their phones...


I think it's partly just to look important or cool or something, or make themselves feel special and pump their ego for having someone to talk to for 15 minutes during the day... I mean, it has to be SOOO important that it can't wait until after work... :rolleyes:

And don't get me started on the fuckers who spend 20 minutes on the phone in their CAR... Fuck that's the one place you can get peace and quiet... HONESTLY, is something THAT important that you have to call up right from your car and discuss it for 20 minutes? :rolleyes: <----- second eye roll..

A lot and then sometimes not a lot, I let it stay dead or charging just so I can respond to a bunch of texts at the same time. Sadly, most of the people who actually actively try to hang out with me are people I don't actually want to go out with ;D Maybe that's harsh but I swear sometimes it seems true. I have a lot of family I only have contact by phone with, well everyone considering I live alone. So for that reason I have to check my phone a few times through the day. When I'm out of the house or at school, on the bus, I tend to text and surf the web almost constantly.

Something that annoys me about cell phones, people who have text tones and get thousands of texts a day. A short little nano second one is OK, but how the hell can you hear a Nickelback song play that many times in a row? This drives me nuts, honestly. I want to shake some of these people and ask them if they know how ridiculous they are.

Diz For 20 bucks a month I get a free phone, $20 worth of calls and free time which is one hour of free calls every day to anywhere in Australia land line or other mobiles on any band, in 20 minute blocks.

For 240 bucks I think its the best deal out there.

So I dont answer calls all day ,then at 3 to 4 pm (my personal designated time which I can change anytime I wish) I check missed calls, have a cuppa while numb nuts packs up the tools and I return all the business calls.
My misses has it too, hers is between 12 and 1 its very useful saves us a fortune.

Got my new iPhone 3GS today just setting it up. Had a Blackberry for the last year, but have made the swap

I have a droid so I use it a lot when I'm having a break at work, or if the wife is watching American Idol or whatever. It's actually come in quite handy in a lot of situations. I don't spend all day texting or talking to people on the phone though. And real world people that are in my presence always take priority over the phone world.

I don't use my phone too much at all because I have a real fear of talking on the phone. I will only answer it if it is a number I know and only in a situation where I feel relaxed. I think phones are freaky devices and best left well alone. So, on the whole I don't use mine too much.

I always have a small wave of fear when its a number I don't recognise or, god forbid, a withheld number. I'm not sure why or what I fear is going to happen.

I had 3 missed calls from a number I text back, no reply, also phoned them back...no reply. Always makes me suspicious..... :detective:

Yep, it's scary. I also have the language issue problem. If it's an unknown number then there is no way they are speaking English. I gave up years ago on cell phones. All these new models can burn in hell for all I care. I am not buying one and I am certainly not answering it.

I only really use mine to prank Ryanman and Miles with.
