With the recent events Martinez wants to take a stand against violence on women. I think it's a great idea for those in a violent relationship, and also for boxing as a whole. Maybe boxing will start to do something about fighters issues outside the ring. The NBA, and NFL will suspend someone for "X" amount of time for off field issues, maybe boxing will too. Good job Martinez!!

It's cool just to hear a boxer is standing up for a cause. I rarely hear about them doing stuff and this certainly is one deserving of more attention.
Agreed this is good including the timing of it.
We had a poster here way back who used to fight amateur exhibition bouts for battered women, he was a great guy hopefully he comes back. Same division as Martinez too.

How great would it be if we could track down RicanChamp (:cwm13:), I remember he used to post torso pictures but I'm not sure that would really be that helpful. He was a pasty white Puerto Rican, at least torso wise.

Well for starters, and mind you I havent been following professional boxing for a long time, but certainly lately there seems to be a lot of news regarding wife battering, abusing and overall shit treating of women up to and including murdering by boxers.
