Your best new music. Hit me with it.
I'm always on the look out for new music and I figured, like a good whore, I'd solicit you fuckers for your best new tunes/albums. Any genre is fine, but I usually listen to rock/punk/indie/metal-type stuff, but I'm open to anything (again, much like a good whore).
Re: Your best new music. Hit me with it.
Fuck I AM NOT the guy for this one as the newest stuff I listen to these days seems to be a year old already. I don't care anymore though, I never focus on when a song was made anymore where I used to have to know that so I could go through my head and categorize, compare, rate etc. Why not listen to Jadakiss? The Last Kiss isn't exactly fresh but imo it is one of the most well put together rap albums of the past few years. People are bitches and rate it song by song forgetting about the art of progression in the album. I'd say give it a try.
So right now I'm about to watch Fantastic Mr. Fox, a completely random downloaded movie that I picked out for my PS3. I'm going to watch this movie I know nothing about. I've been overloading on the heavy shit lately. The Road and You Don't Know Jack I watched the last 2 nights. The Road is such a great movie it's a shame that it didn't have a better ending. I won't spoil it obviously but if anyone has seen it they know what I mean. You Don't Know Jack was top notch, it deserves it's own separate thread. Excellent pieces of work but I need something a little light and the title and the fact that it's stop motion mean this has potential. Those are two movies that are pretty big downers. Al Pacino deserves Best Actor, I never even had seen a Kevorkian interview or even given thought to assisted suicide. And I said that before I saw any real life Kevorkian footage, when I did I was doubly astounded thus I had to watch it again.
But now it's Fantastic Mr. Fox. The first 10 minutes will determine if I watch the whole thing.

My bad, just read the title again after I posted. My bad it's Cinco De Mayo (I've had like 4 margaritas and a bunch of tequila shots) and I've got a sunburn on the bottom part of my face because I've been wearing a sombrero all day. Gimme a break I like my post anyways. Since Kngfrnk isn't here all this is going to get is some weird band nameless recommends and then boozeboxer posting Hank Williams.
Re: Your best new music. Hit me with it.
My favourite band is Brand New, if you haven't heard of them I definitely recommend downloading them. They are one of those bands that you like them the more you listen to them, anyways my favourites are;
- Jesus Christ
- Degausser
- Sic Transit Gloria...Glory Fades
- Sowing Season (Yeah)
- Okay I Believe You, But My Tommy Gun Don't
- Handcuffs
(I just wanted to use the list function basically), but download their albums as all are great, my favourite is probably "The Devil and God Are Raging", but "Your Favorite Weapon", "Deja Entendu" and "Daisy" are all great and worth it!
Other good bands to check out; The Mars Volta (the widow is great), Alexisonfire, Evergreen Terrace have a great cover album called writer's block which is better than the orginals, Wolf & Cub, Interpol, The Tragically Hip, The Temper Trap.
Give those a listen and let us know what you think.

I listen to tonnes of new music, but very little of it impresses me.
Recent:
Midlake - Average
Mumford & Sons - Average
Joshua Radin - Average
Laura Marling - Haven't actually listened to album yet
Gorillaz - Starting to grow on me
Corinne Bailey Rae - Very good (surprisingly)

How does someone from Australia know about the Hip? They're legendary in Canada and unknown almost everywhere else.

The XX are pretty damn splendid man. Been listening to them alot lately. Bizzarely, they even featured on a Mayweather Mosley 24/7, which was odd, seen as I think they are UK based.
Re: Your best new music. Hit me with it.
Not a new band but a new album, Bullet for My Valentine has just released their newest album. Its called Fever and its fucking great. They show shit loads of diversity in it, from heavy metal with full on screaming to heavy metal with awesome singing to soft metal with awesome guitar solos. Love it.

I don't remember how I got onto them, but they are great! Although they aren't really new music, they are different and no one seems to have heard of them before when I show it to them. So definitely worth a download.

They're huge in Canada and they have been for years. They're great live too.
