Tonight's FNF! 5/14/10

Buffalo Bill's in Primm, NV tonight features past it Light Welters Julio Diaz and Herman Ngoudjo.

Both Diaz and Ngoudjo come in at the 140 limit
While undercard fighters Dominic Salcido comes in at 129 and his opponent Guillermo Sanchez tips the scales at 128

Julio "The Kidd" Diaz comes in with a record of 36-6 (26 KOs) and is returning after his announcement of retirement following a fnf defeat to Victor Cayo. Diaz has fallen a long way since being one of the three Diaz's to own a lightweight strap in 2007. He is no longer able to make lightweight limit and has lost his last two in a row.

Herman Ngoudjo has a pro record of 18-3 (10 KOs). Who has two losses that were close enough to swing his way (against Malignaggi and JLC) was absolutely battered by Urango, even though he saw the final bell he was in a world of hurt. He is coming off of a win in February against Silverio Ortiz who had a lot of talent and was highly touted as a prospect 8 years ago, has overtime become very much a stepping stone opponent.

I expect to see Ngoudjo take this on the cards, while I think Diaz is the better boxer (I very much consider Ngoudjo a one-trick pony) I question Diaz's gas tank.

Well Diaz isn't as shot as poor Richard Hall was last week, so it should be a better more competitive fight.

Maybe the Vernon Paris fight will be shown. Its his first time back since being shot and almost killed so good luck to him.

And the Braves play.

I think Ngoudjo will outwork Diaz over the distance. I thought Diaz looked faded/shopworn in his last fight.

I think the Paris fight will open the Shobox telecast.

Anyone see that Escobedo left hook detonation on Salcido?Classic.Least hes done aways with the orange hair.Yeah Sanchez falls into reach but catches Salcido down the middle some...bit of a cutie.Wonder how gun shy Salcido is?

What? No it's not. He got shot in 06. He's fought 14 times since than. It's his 5th fight since being stabbed in 08. It's actually his 3rd fight this year
